I am planning to purchase z3000 pro. In the case of the old z1000 model, I have seen cases where a power upgrade kit like the one in the picture was installed. Is there anyone who has done or plans to do this kind of power tuning for the z3000? I'm curious because I don't know if this power unit can be installed on zidoo products after z1000. If it is possible to install it, I would like to install it.
You need to check; - the space needed - the connectors matching - the voltages being the same on all pins. But the PSU's are fairly simple for those models so maybe? Experimented myself with the Z9X using a very big Linear PSU of 2x 12V 5A replacing the standard external brick 12V 2A Switched PSU. It gave no visual or audible improvements for me. Finally now using a 12V 4A Earthed Switched PSU brick unit as a replacement. Gives identical experience allowing hot swapping any SATA HDD's attached. So if it is worth the effort and money?
