    Hello,

    I have the following setup:
    • Sony A80J 77'' TV
    • Samsung HW-Q990D soundbar
    • Zidoo Z9X Pro media player (connected via SMB from NAS)
    • PlayStation 5
    • Google Chromecast 4K
    • Philips Hue Sync Box 8K (for TV backlighting

It is currently setup like this:

Playstation 5 + Google Chromecast 4K + Zidoo Z9X Pro -> Philips Hue Sync Box (HDMI 1-3 In)
Philips Hue Sync Box HDMI Out -> Sony A80J HDMI 4 In (120Hz / VRR / ALLM)
Sony A80J HDMI 3 (eARC) -> Samsung HW-Q990D Soundbar eARC

Everything works perfectly except for one issue: Sony TVs don't support DTS-HD MA audio passthrough. As a result, the audio from many Blu-ray remuxes gets downmixed or converted, which is frustrating.

I bought a FeinTech AX310 audio extractor hoping to bypass the TV's audio limitations and send full DTS:X / DTS-HD MA directly to the soundbar, but I can't get it to work. Is this the correct audio extractor? Which one would work in my setup?

I was also thinking about returning the Zidoo Z9X Pro and get the Z3000 Pro instead (with dual HDMI video/audio), so audio can be sent directly to the soundbar without the need of an audio extractor. Would this work? In this case, how do I get sound from my soundbar while watching on the Chromecast? Then I still need to connect the soundbar via eARC to the TV, correct? How does the soundbar know not to use eARC with the Zidoo Z3000 Pro?

Thank you very much for your help!

    Hi @Khaeli247 ,
"Sony TVs don't support DTS-HD MA audio passthrough"
Something is wrong because Sony A80J does support DTS-HD MA pass-thru on eARC, according to the Sony specs and RTINGS.com.
I have a similar setup (SONY OLED A90K and Samsung Q930B) and no problems whatsoever.
All my Blu-ray (a few hundred) are ripped with MakeMKV and NFO and posters are retrieved with tMM (tinyMediaManager).
