Mmh, but this is the version from over a week ago, which I've installed since a week and not from today.
This is exactly the last known beta version we are talking about. The official version will follow next week.
I am running 1.4.76 and whatever adjustments that Eversolo made at the server side, the stuttering on my A6 for Qobuz Connect is almost non-existent now. I am sure the upgrade next week will make this perfect.
Not a big issue, but: Qobuz offers some multichannel albums (searching with #multichannel). Output of the DMP-A6 is set to HDMI, firmware 1.4.80. Start playing such an album isn't possible through Qobuz connect. Using the internal Qobuz app, plays it as an stereo downmix. Only Roon is able to play such albums in multichannel with the DMP-A6.
Not a big issue, but: In Qobuz you can find some multichannel albums (searching with #multichannel). A DMP-A6 with firmware 1.4.80 and output set to HDMI handles this in the current way: * Using Qobuz Connect --> not playable, "connect" goes back to the remote (and here it's playing) * Using internal Qobuz app or using the DMP-A6 with LMS: You can't select the multichannel version (only the stereo one is shown) --> plays stereo * Using Roon: There you can select the multichannel version and it will played in multichannel. So: Is Qobuz Connect always limited to stereo? Tested now with a Hifi Rose device: Here I can only select the stereo tracks, which are playing, but the DMP-A6 is my only device, which supports multichannel and Qobuz Connect.
What do you mean? As written above, I've used for all the tests the HDMI output to an AV Pre. The A6 is surely used with Roon as Roon endpoint.
So you mean Roon is flushing the output to the HDMI of the Eversolo? Thta sounds amazing, and at the same time stoopid (from an Eversolo POV)... How could a third-party app be smarter than a native developer-made app operaint on a local device...?!? Astonished and frustrated, though, more than surprised... And yes, I do know Roon is definitely not free... Guys at Eversolo might get on track with this, because if it is feasible by a remote app, if should be as well locally!!!
The problem with the internal Qobuz app is here, that you can't select the multichannel version; you'll get every time the stereo version (and I'm sure, that Qobuz will offer from all multichannel versions a stereo one). In Roon remote you're able to use the 'version tab', select here the multichannel version and play it:
did the update this morning and the stutter seems to be gone. I only had a chance to test it on 1 track. Will test again tonight. Anyone else having success?
That is promising then! I am pumped and hated to run out to work before getting to experience it. If the stutter didn't stop, I was going to sell the DMP-A6 ME and move to something else, as it was too much of an annoyance.
Yes well. The stutter had already be gone with the beta of this now released Firmware. So it works all well for now.
