Or somebody is filtering an IP-Range for some unknown reason.

@Sledgehamma , your ISP shows as Vodafone West GmbH from your IP - any issues with accessing the forum?

@RolandG is a Vodafone-User from Germany and has no problems.

Ok - that would make sense - it's not a territory problem, it looks like an ISP one.

All your traffic, when you're not using a VPN, is routed by Deutsche Telekom AG and @RolandG 's traffic is mostly routed by Telekom Deutschland GMbH and more recently, Kabel Deutschland.

Yeah, that's what i assumed. Strange thing is, it started 4 days ago, exactly the date where there was an announcement that Huawei Network Hardware will be banned from German Public Networks, looks a bit dodgy. Anyway, my ISP is not willing to investigate what's going on, so for the forseeable future i'm stuck to VPN, which will mean additional costs for me if i reach a certain amount of traffic. Pretty frustrating this.

    Very annoying!

I use NordVPN - you can get some great deals and as far as I know there are no additional costs for traffic.

Telekom Deutschland is a 100% subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, all the operative business is in TD.

And Kabel Deutschland hasn’t existed anymore since October 2023; it’s Vodafone.

They're still different routes using different equipment and the IP address you're currently using identifies the ISP as "Kabel Deutschland" so again, even though they were taken over by Vodafone, the equipment is presumably still the same.

So are you using a 5G modem? The Huawei thing is only related to the mobile network as far as I know.

No, VDSl. I don't know if that is true.

Just did a bit of digging about it and according to what I read, VDSL shouldn't be affected.

Essentially the operators are reducing their reliance on Huawei, but that shouldn't affect routing to China, although as we all know that can be problematic.

Yeah, I don’t think they exchanged the hardware after the merger.

Today's issues are either at the Zidoo server end or the proxy that sits right in front of it. It started with Bad Gateway errors from nginx, then some content failing to be delivered (images, CSS) and eventually a complete and brief outage. My guess would be that whatever service sits in front of the forum server and offers security protection is having issues.

It's now 08:00 (CET) and i can reach the forum without VPN. Slow but at least i can reach it. From around 10:00 on things start to deteriorate until session requests timeout completely. Odd, but that's the way it is since 5 days.
