Flash file will format memory, then partiton the memory. The Flash file contain all part of firmware like boot system. Update only contain file that had been update and program

That would wipe everything and the box would be the same as starting from scratch?
IOW's more of a emergency procedure if the O/S is corrupted?

All files will be erase then rewrite from scratch. Use in case system get corrupt or total instability.

This procedure is need if you want to revert to previous firmare.

Ok, I was just going to ask about flashing backwards.
Then you can't just use a older F/W update file to revert back? Also you have to update one version at a time, or can you skip versions? I have 1.3.o now.

I just started scanning thru that 2.0.5 F/W thread.

No. You must use the flashing .img to go back at first firmware then apply the update you want.

From 1.3.0 only use update, no need to update with every firmware between, update contain all file modify from original .img

Got it. I never have 'bricked' anything yet, I just want to keep it that way. ;)

    (Knock on wood.)
