With new functions, this update gives you more precise control over details.
Also, there are a number of optimizations and adjustments, including enhancements to the album screensaver, Qobuz playback reliability, and SSD identification...

Since I am happy with the current version 1.5.46 I am a little bit afraid that the new version might introduce new problems. But the phono volume gain is a feature I really want…
So is there any way to downgrade to a previous firmware (via USB) just in case of unforeseen problems?

 

There is, IIRC, it involves a slightly different procedure, like keeping the small reset button pressed while you switch the device on by rear switch, and the usb containing the upgarde - well... the downgrade... - is inserted.
Cannot remember more than this "overall" steps.

Another firmware without support for "lossless spotify connect". Four months of waiting is a very long time. It's very sad.

 

I am on 1.5.46 with DMP A8 and it has lossless Spotify connect

 

T8 just checking right now no update yet.
I am on 1.5.46 and tells me I am up to date.

 

There can be no sonic difference between 16 and 24 bits. The only thing 24 bits does is to provide more headroom for gain. Any other claims need to be proven in a blind A/B comparison.
