Connecting via HDMI to your AMP and it is all set. Provided it has HDMI inputs with DSD support obviously.
Having bought a new hdmi high speed cable up to 48gb and for 4k 8k and even 10k for the DSD audio, the intermittent break ups of the streaming audio did not stop. I've tried almost everything in the Settings and installation guide no success. Iam now back to the optical cable output connection which works perfectly . Any idea what I've done wrong or missed in the Settings.

To what external ‘box’ are you connecting the HDMI cable and what issues do you have when playing DSD music?
Hi See whether this is applicable in your case. If you have the A6 HDMI connected to a AVR and then AVR HDMI output connect to a TV or screen, you might need to "disable" the AVR HDMI output when the A6 is selected. The intermittent interruption could be due to HDMI resync, as A6 has no video out. I have a similar setup, using Yamaha AVP 5200 and face similar interruption if I don't disable the Yamaha output port. Hope it help
I connected the hdmi cable output to my Samsung Soundbar Speakers Q series HW990B , first with optical output cable which works perfectly, still using the optical cable because I've no issues with the optical output connection.only issue is with the HDMI connection for the DSD audio
Thanks, but I connected the HDMI cable to Samsung surround soundbar , with the optical output cable no issue at all only with HDMI output cable I've got issue with.
Well, difficult to say but HDMI output allows for D2P (DSD to PCM). Optical allows for D2P and DOP (DSD over PCM). Your soundbar most likely does not understand Native DSD, so I guess you have HDMI set to D2P and maybe Optical set to DOP. Maybe it is not the HDMI cable. Maybe your soundbar just ‘understands’ DOP better than D2P. But it is just my guess, since I don’t know your settings and the specs of the soundbar.
is the music you are trying to play on the onboard SSD/USB drive or coming from your network? If the latter is the case your problem could be upstream and not downstream....just a thought
I think is the network ( upstream and downstream ) but i used the optical cable output on the same network no issue at all with streaming .the hdmi problem is only with streaming apps not with the onboard drive like usb or NAS or direct via tidal or spotify on my cellphone.
So it is more likely the downstream is somehow not able to fill the buffers in time, and you hear some interruptions. (local files do not suffer this, as confirmation) Maybe the resolution of the DSD streams is too high?
If I understood correctly, you are streaming PCM with the optical and DSD with HDMI....well if your network is not ok, DSD can put a real strain on it, Try putting the same file on USB stick and see what happen. That will tell you where to focus.
Why would you cripple the sound quality using compressed Spotify? Instead, use a lossless streaming source such as Apple Music (which has lossless and hi-res lossless).
