The current sleep and screen options are a bit inconvenient. I’d like the device to stay ready to play audio immediately, while keeping the screen off when nothing is playing. Right now it’s basically either: Normal sleep, but then short sounds like notifications can be missed while the device wakes up. Always on, but then the screen is either always on or always off. It would be nice to have one simple option next to Turn off screen: Turn the screen on when audio starts playing. Also, would it be possible to make the device go to sleep automatically when the active input disappears? For example, if the active USB source/computer is turned off, the device could go to sleep and wake up again when the input becomes available or when audio starts playing.
You can set the X8 to automatically enter Sleep Mode after there is no audio signal for a certain period of time. Please go to General → Display → Sleep and select your preferred timeout. When the X8 detects a digital input signal, it will automatically wake up from Sleep Mode.
Normal sleep is not very convenient for this use case. It takes quite a long time to wake up, and there are also several relay clicks every time it wakes. Because of the long wake-up time, short sounds like notifications can be missed completely.
Currently, the Luxsin receives an IP address automatically from the router's DHCP server. It would be very useful if the Luxsin network settings allowed users to manually assign a static IP address.
This is essentially the same issue I mentioned in the thread below. The problem is that when I’m listening to music and then stop playback because I need to focus on work for a while, the X8 eventually goes into sleep mode. When I come back and want to listen to music again, having to manually wake it up is quite inconvenient. However, if I completely disable the sleep function, I have to manually turn the X8 on and off every time I start up or shut down my PC, which is also inconvenient. It would be great if there were an option to automatically wake the X8 when a USB audio signal is detected, while still allowing it to automatically power off or enter sleep mode when the PC is shut down. I think this would make the power management behavior much more convenient for PC users.
The X8 should automatically wake up from Sleep Mode when it detects a USB audio signal, so you shouldn't need to wake it up manually. If this isn't happening on your X8, please let us know, as we'd like to investigate why it's not working as intended.
