I am in total awe of this machine.

I've had it in the house since November and I had been using it exclusively as a streamer. Then, I got the idea of creating my own FLAC files (thanks to those who gave me their guidance, I LOVE dBpoweramp!!) as I have many WAV files I created from old cassette tapes for totally out of print albums.

It takes some extra work to edit the tags, yes. But, I can find the album artwork on Discogs and any track information I would ever need to recreate the album in glorious FLAC at a bitrate that matches what I am streaming from Qobuz.

Using dBpoweramp to also rip CDs that are out of print and I can not find on Qobuz or Amazon Music, I am able to recreate my long lost library, enjoying music I haven't listened to in a very long time.

And now, I have downloaded my first DSD album (Mahler's 3rd Symphony conducted by Horenstein!) and this just completes the package.

I can seamlessly switch from Qobuz to my music library to Internet Radio and even apps from my iPhone.

    :)

@Craig B, I had a number of Advent CR/70 cassettes (think back to the good ol' days of the 1970s and high end cassettes) that I transferred over to WAV format using a rebuilt Nakamichi 581Z cassette deck.

I had burned those files to CD and listened to them through my system that way. Until I bought a Cambridge Audio CXN transport which is not too forgiving in terms of CDRs.

So for years, I haven't really been able to listen to these recordings. Until now. Sure...they might sound like they came off a cassette deck, BUT, they are still in glorious high-rez 44.1/16 and these were still state of the art at the time and truly amazing performances.

I'll take that and again, the ability to listen to these totally out of print recordings that you can't find on any of the streaming services.

One of the main reasons I never got rid of any of my CDs, DVD-Audio or SACDs. There is this mindset amongst some that streaming services will provide you with your every music need. How mistaken some are. Licenses to stream certain content might expire plus the issue of possible censorship in the future. I addition, once you own the physical media it's yours forever (well mostly) until it gets lost or stolen.

I agree about how time consuming accurate tagging can be. I've just recently rationalised and updated my entire digital music collection tags except DCC and DAT which still remain in their native format with no immediate intention to "rip" and transfer to my eversolo's internally installed SSD just yet. I found MP3tag quite useful for editing the tags as it works on all files except SACD ISO. Has the added benefit of adding tag data to CDs I ripped decades ago with the multi database lookup feature which is about 99% accurate on matches.

Time for the update after the 1.4.82 update.

So, I am using both Qobuz and Amazon Music. I know there are those that will think I am crazy, but bottom-line: Amazon Music carries some content that Qobuz does not and visca-versa.

In the past, using the Eversolo Control APP, I would go to either service and then have to go through a quick (but tedious) process of listing out all my favorite albums on either service. But the APP doesn't hold that. So, switching between Amazon and Qobuz, I would have to repeat this process.

Now with the addition of Qobuz Connect, I can quickly switch between both services and have access to all of my content instantly. AND, with the revamping of the Eversolo Control APP's interface, I can also quickly switch over to the library on my internal SSD drive and still maintain my Amazon Music listing.

This just boosts my love of my DMP-A6. A truly extraordinary device for a very fair price. I love this thing more everyday I own it.

Thank you to the Eversolo team for continuing to update the DMP-A6 and keep it so very very relevant in the face of the new devices that Eversolo continues to roll-out.

Well, what this wonderful little machine really does is get me back to what this is all about: The Music. And it is a wonder how easily I can peruse what seems like such a vast library. I can wonder the halls of Mahler and then jump to some obscure punkish album from a long dead band in the 80's and then swing around and put on a Partridge Family album. All with a couple of little swipes of my finger. :)

    Happiness and joy. :)

Very nice that’s what having a streamer is all about as you stated , I agree it is a mere convenience factor instead of fiddling around looking for this and that as you say, everything is correctly at your fingertips I like that, but there’s pros and cons with everything However it is absolutely without doubt a wonderful piece of equipment and it’s proper perspective. Absolutely a most unique experience, I am starting to take it for granite sometimes , I don’t even care to get involved with my other formats very unique. absolutely very scary , I find myself almost continually
Employing this unit and not even thinking about using my other audio equipment. ;-}‍♂️✌️

v1.4.82 this morning installed, I saw that there is now room correction and you can use you're phone as microphone to measure you're room.

It is really amazing, flabbergasted how well it worked in my room.

Try it out, in the app bottom right "Correction" you can,t go wrong.

Enjoying my A6 more en more

How exactly does it work with the mobile phone? Do you hold it in your hand while sitting at your desk, turned around with the microphone facing you, or do you walk to certain points in the room? I'd like to know because I've never done a measurement like this before and if it works really well with the mobile phone, I'll be even happier.

You start the app go to "Correction". Go sit in you're favorite listening position in front of you're speakers. Just do what the app tells you en hold you're phone wenn the testsignal starts at earhigh. When the signal stops look at the screen of you're phone and do what the app orders you to do, there comes another testsignal and put you're phone/microphone again at aer hight at you're favorite listening position. It takes a few minutes in total.

The result in my room is awesome.

But please react, I like to hear from others how it worked out by them.

    Eversolo, good job!

  14. The app does not recognize iPhone as a microphone as far as I can see.

Hello Chromazone, thank you, you are absolutely 100% correct I kind of got a kick out of it. It actually works pretty well. I’m surprised, to some extent
I guess I’m a little old school. I usually don’t touch or incorporate or use these type of features , never did just a BI-amplification 2 channel audio guy + Sub’s 2 with dedicated amps & Xovers
With separate attenuation for left and right channels, for various reasons channel imbalance or room deficiency’s, but they stay pretty much equal almost equal,
90% of the time, yes I read your post and out of curiosity I figured I would give it a try, I must admit works very well not perfect which I don’t expect it.
to be, of course, on the type that always has to find something not up to par, my only one complaint being as follows, I keep a couple of external Dac’s
Always connected to the rear of the unit a DMP A8, After putting forth this procedure. Sadly, I inadvertently found out that my this wonderful feature
that’s pretty cool and also works very well, only pertains to the internal DAC of the A8, it will not correct work or rectify on any Dac unit that is connected as such ,
in which makes perfect sense as to its ability to correct the unit as an entire standalone player through use of the provided AKM Dac that is part of or
Incorporated into the UNIT by design and engineering.,

I believe their philosophy is as follows, any other Dac or Dac’s that you may use externally, would and should be specific in nature as to their own
Adjustments setting and control characteristics . I would agree with that absolutely 100%, As to whatever external unit you are using or employing
Would indeed be set up and controlled through the settings and software of whatever make model unit you had employed for use of,
But however, thank you for the post like I stated I never journey into things of this nature I have to admit I was somewhat surprised
Everything worked perfectly through use of my iPhone no problems and Eversolo went on to make its corrections. Very nice. I like that :)
Again thank you for putting that out there informatively, speaking, a very intriguing little feature that works well,
Please enjoy your day along with your music, and have a wonderful weekend coming up, hey your on top of your game. , I like that, I remain respectful yours…:) ✌️
