Unit arrived with a non working V15 remote(will not hold a charge). I have tried paring the remote (V16) from the T8 unit to no avail. Any suggestions to a replacement remote to use with the Z10. I have contacted my dealer and they are looking into it, but you know how that can go.
Finally got mine but complained to My dealer cause I had 60 days to return the entire thing. They contacted the distributor and he had to special order several. Took just a little over 2 weeks to get a new and it works perfectly.
I have both the Z10 and T8 and believe the remotes are set at the factory. They do look alike but the Z10 remote seems to only control the Z10. I left the plastic on the backside of the Z10 remote so I differentiate the Z10 remote from the T8 remote. As I use a custom IR remote that I programmed, both units have an IR emitter on the front. Using a flashlight, I was able to find the remote receiver on both units. On the Z10, it was harder to find but it's actually on the right side of the unit over the volume dial. I believe both of them are IR remotes. There is a IR transmitter on the top end of both remotes. As both units have 12-volt trigger in and out jacks, I have my system all connected via trigger cables. This allows me to turn on the preamp and the rest of the system fires up using the 12-volt triggers.
I have both units also. The remote for the T8 is a version 16 remote and will not pair with the z10. The remote for the z10 is version 15 remote. I’m also using the 12 volt trigger but I like a working remote for the price of the unit. Take a pic of the back of remote and zoom in to see the version.
Thanks for sharing this. I do see they are different versions. They are separate machines so different remotes isn’t necessarily bad. I had to buy a non-Samsung television as my computer monitors are Samsung and it caused issues with one remote working on 3 separate devices. I have all the v15 and V16 codes learned into my custom remote. I can take the plastic off the back of the Z10 remote now.
They have different keys, the on/off key is green on Z10 remote, red on T8, the bottom right key also differs between both. When you saying "perfectly fine", you are able to pair it with Z10 or this is pure IR operation?
Man, that’s a bummer they don’t have a v16 for the z10. I just got it knowing id have it in a cabinet but thought it would connect via BT. Just needed for volume control really. Hope they extend the v16 remote to support the z10.
