Think about those poor idiots who listen to music without having measured the DAC...
maybe they even have an R2R....

And on top of that they also use the I2s output of the Eversolo

well I do agree with you to some extent, but as long as it’s transparent and distortion free, you won’t hear any difference :) all DAC’s sound the same that’s why he only sells one DAC, I learned a valuable lesson I would’ve missed oh well :) oh thanks Keith, how rude of me , I was being so narrow minded,

    have a nice day everyone , Enjoy….

Yes, the sound is already very good; it's a shame I can't turn the volume up louder, as I live in a condominium, but even at low volume it's excellent. I use my Denon 7200 headphones for higher volumes.:)

Hi wow, yes I hear tell of these problems, from time to time in my area also, thank goodness I have never had those problems, well, naturally, except when I was younger a different life in a very different world and I was living at home. Oh yes, all the time :) TURN IT DOWN :)

I would assume there are certain times perhaps when folks are not at home. A buddy of Mine back then spoke with his neighbors and promised them he would only listen. It louder levels when they were not at home ect, and it actually worked out pretty well for him as he shown them some respect naturally , they even told Him when they were not home , I don’t know your situation and most likely would not work out in today’s world, but you never know?

well, you will certainly have something to really look forward to, but absolutely you want to turn them up Yes, we have probably all been there one time or another, especially due to the nature of the hobby to a certain degree, everything comes to those who wait, Just an old saying. But true

But again, you completed and absolutely beautiful job your audio system along with your new Triangle loudspeakers , absolutely room looks great again very best of luck with everything, please let us know your progress With the new project, naturally if time permits,

have a wonderful night. Enjoy whatever you can for the time being :) anticipation it’s definitely worth the weight :)

Thank you! Yes, I'm respectful and I like good neighbors. It's very quiet here; most of the co-owners are quite elderly. At 64, I'm one of the youngest :) Enjoy your music and best of luck with your listening room renovations. You'll show us the result, won't you?

Hi yes , room should have been total completed approximately 6 months ago, but life keeps getting
In the way, for one reason or another I thought perhaps you were a little younger, that’s excellent. I believe I only have a few years on you, very happy to see it appears you are not letting anything stand in your way. Excellent good for you, that’s the way it should be, unfortunately
some of life matters take president over your passions and hobbies. All I can do is go with the flow as events unfold, but now that I have a little extra help, at present I certainly hope my audio room will be back to normal Hopefully no longer approximately perhaps the end of February, early March /26…

now keep in mind. Hopefully everything will be complete and finished. Also everything in place as far as equipment, etc., but as far as everything being completely hooked up and running, that may be a bit of wishful thinking, but at minimum everything will be there and at least in place, there is always much more to do then you believe so naturally until you actually get started and move to the next situation at hand,, and when you’re not 35 or 40 years old anymore, everything seems to run a little differently, :)

I will absolutely send you a bunch of pics, even if I have to send them to you privately no problems you may be somewhat overwhelmed, especially when you see industrial steel racks full of equipment definitely not your normal looking AUDIO set up, but it’s a dedicated room. It’s a personal room. No one really goes in there except for myself in a few Audio buddies. It’s definitely not a room for formal entertainment, and it wasn’t meant to be, a little more time and patience and I will be where I was looking to go, but I do thank you for taking interest, thank you much appreciated!

again best of luck enjoy your new set up :)

A properly designed dac, and as such will sound identical to a properly designed, ie audibly transparent sigma-delta design.

I’m sure it’s possible to add “compensation” to make an R2R sound like a delta sigma, or a tube amp sound like a solid state. That would make the measurement folks happy, but those who like the sound of R2R or tubes unhappy.

Read this if you have any doubts about the sound quality of this DAC, which is fairly typical of R2R designs. The lower-end Spring model offers performance similar to May's at a lower cost.

If an R2R does sound ‘different’ and you can only really determine that by comparing it unsighted and level matched against a blameless unit, then it is because it is adding distortion.
Distortion is something that was not present in the original signal.

    Ah, I see, you're a professional audiophile!

That reminds me of about 40 years ago, when an architect, a client of my ex-wife, invited us to his newly renovated listening room. He played me my two favorite albums (Dark Side of the Moon and Tubular Bells)—oh my goodness, what bliss! I had goosebumps... That's when I understood what Hi-Fi was all about. His equipment was very basic back then; he only had a CD player and two powered speakers. I don't remember the brands; it was a long time ago, I was about 25. But what magnificent sound!

Unfortunately for me, I've never had the chance to own that kind of equipment that gives you chills, due to lack of time, money, etc. Now, living alone, I'm making up for it a bit by acquiring equipment within my budget. I'm really looking forward to seeing your results; I think they'll be spectacular!

Hi Ghislain, No I would say , not pros just a few goodGuys with a great amount of all types of audio equipment having a great time , comparing all types of audioDevices, from A to Z , and what ever else that comes Along that appears to be somewhat interesting, also, the age where the vintage of some of the equipment that we use has absolutely nothing to do with it, Some equipment is very current. Some equipment may be 35 or 40 years old all depending upon what we are trying to accomplish at a given time. A lot of experimentation along with a lot of surprises very much so we’re perhaps performing various types of hook ups, Like by Bi -ampping , triamping, a great deal of crossover, experimentation, both electronic and also passive, Two ,18 inch subwoofers JBL’s or always standard and always in place, but however, not always in use depending on what type of equipment is being used at a given time or what we are perhaps trying to accomplish or seek,

Thankfully, a couple of these audio enthusiast
Not of myself have had literally decades of experience and recording studios throughout the United States, also installing pro audio, 2 X techs here that installed and tested all the sound reinforcement equipment for many live shows and performances with some pretty big name groups or bands throughout many years in the past, so my personal opinion there is quite a bit of talent here and almost every area in regards to Audio Application and reproduction, A few of
These guys here, have given me a education in audio, and electronics that I most likely could have not acquired in any school or university, and all I had to do is be willing to learn throughout The years, they would actually make me build and assemble various electronic devices, then perhaps in some cases, they would point out my mistakes and make me do it over again I don’t believe you could pay to receive much better knowledge , education than they had given me and I absolutely do consider myself extremely lucky to have these guys still being around ,

a wealth of knowledge, but professionals we are not , just something that we get together and do on a personal level and interaction with one another and just having a good time, however, when you endeavor into all types makes models vintages of Audio equipment. You absolutely do need in my personal opinion, a dedicated room that is set up and can accommodate in proper order and what you are perhaps trying to achieve. one thing I can definitely make clear. It’s a lot of work moving units in and out on and off shelves re-hooking a lot of equipment back up and doing it all over again, but it is very rewarding. It absolutely without doubt there’s a whole lot of fun and self gratification, experienced yes professionals I would not go as far as to say that, however I absolutely do see your point of view and description naturally , there is one gentleman here that often contribute a lot of articles to a somewhat underground magazine by the name of vacuum tube Valley some years back, so I would imagine to sum everything up it’s a bunch of good guys and a nice size room with a lot of equipment, experimenting building, modifying in depth, listening, etc.

A little secret, the biggest difference, or bang for your buck, we have found always to be , your crossover networks seem be the biggest upgrade, in Sonic change , experimentation is Paramount, as most speaker manufacturers most of the time cheap out. Not all the time, but let’s face it to a certain degree. Everything is built for cost , always a priority naturally, A great deal of the internal crossover capacitors parts components, ect . that we have modified or replaced with much better capacitors and other components has made absolutely dramatic differences sonically speaking, However, some of these components, depending on choice are absolutely not cheap. But what a difference I am in no way suggesting please, That you take your new loudspeakers and start experimenting with Crossovers , I am not suggesting or insinuating such whatsoever, Perhaps in the foreseeable future as you grow along with the hobby. As this could prove quite interesting, in Sonics,

I absolutely enjoy this immensely then perhaps just having my basic Stereo or audio system set up and enjoying it and they use that’s usually the norm I would say most likely for the average consumer absolutely nothing wrong with that, We are perhaps just doing and performing audio reproduction a little differently, but it’s all the same in the end, but it does absolutely without doubt keep you from getting plain old Board, also, you do not have to spend a great deal of money with a little experience and a little knowledge. You can absolutely put a wonderful sounding audio system together. At an unbelievable cost. Some of the most dissatisfying audio systems I have heard had cost a small Fortune , others not so much but fabulous sound,

But again, thank you for your post , beautiful job you did , Enjoy the music :)

** apologies for the quite lengthy post, However, at times it is somewhat difficult
To explain or enlighten someone in certain areas that are a little more complex
In use of or application, in explanation of 1 or 2 paragraphs,

People like it, if they do, because they think it sounds better. Like tube distortion.

Keith, That would all be dependent upon, where , when and what type of equipment was used on The original recording, yes true tubes have Odd and Even order harmonics, SS gear does NOT It is more to the liking of SOME audio folks or people sonically speaking, NOT ALL , You can’t deviate from that opinion, as it is not opinion, it is fact … please do not criticize or condemn certain equipment because you do not sell it,

Not a thing in the world to do what or what was not in the original recording , unless it was recorded in that particular recording, I would you to state that to
Mr. Rupert Neve. If he were still alive today,
    RIP/ February 2021….

That’s fine, as long as they realise that the difference ( if there is any ) is purely distortion and not ‘closer to the original performance’ , 9more organic’ etc etc.
The mission for serious designers for the last eighty years has of course been and still is to eradicate audible distortion.

Point taken, however I believe their as been an absolute
cure for distortion many many years ago, at least what’s audible through the use of human hearing, not the instruments on my test bench, although there are many numerous types of distortion, it all comes down to cause an effect, but yet we still have no cure for CROSSOVERS distortion even incorporating the best components without being an a parabolic chamber, as to a certain degree most of us have no control of our overall living environment in speaking of your, ROOM

So in getting down to microscopic or unmeasurable out of any distortion, from a very technical point of view again it is something that will always be here. one of the very most strangest findings. I have yet to meet anyone with normal hearing ability as of today actually say or admit, they can hear any distortion, but however, they are quite ABLE to perceive and negotiate between hearing odd and even order harmonics due to the way the human brain perceives them not man-made occurrences of distortion that you were speaking of harmonic distortion in intermodulation distortion, power supply distortion, irregularities, and cable distortions. The list is endless endless , please lets be somewhat sensible, for a change , if you keep looking into the tunnel, perhaps one day you may see the light.
IDK , I most certainly would not wager any bets on it,
CASE CLOSED , next docket number ? :)
