Hey hello macnet427 , I have also been following the T 8, However, after reading your post I was wondering if perhaps you could tell me, possibly What was the make & model of the high-end CD dedicated transport, that you had in use and you found in favor the Eversolo A8. Just purely out of curiosity I also own an Eversolo A8, I have had the A8 for approximately one year. I also have a couple dedicated CD transport only, As yourself. I am just curious if you’d be so kind, To tell me perhaps what transport you were using Thank you I appreciate it., wishing you all the best, please have a wonderful weekend. Thank you again ;-}
You are clearly the better man @Nutul and I applaud your post. BTW, I don't disagree with you. Logic dictates it will probably retail at a lower price than the A8 unless there's an audiophool premium price tag applied to it. Until now I have intentionally avoided this thread because this forum isn't going to receive an apology (but more like a whole lot of conjectured opinion) from a kid in the bedroom of his parent's home who IMHO is inebriated with the exuberance of his own verbosity.
Exactly. You have nothing to wager. It's a hollow gesture. Maybe you might consider wagering the desk in your bedroom in your parent's house if it's even yours to wager? The only people who know what the T8 will retail for are the guys in eversolo's marketing department. Like most companies, I'm sure they will end up pricing it at whatever they feel the marketplace is prepared to pay based on favourable pre-release reviews by social media influencers, advertising hype et al and of course what it actually costs to design, develop and manufacture the product. With streamers it's a competitive market at the moment. I suspect eversolo will probably and hopefully price the T8 to be so against the other brands with similar offerings. Also marketing it competitively at a reasonable price opens up opportunities for eversolo to market a flagship external DAC to compliment it.
I feel the T8 is a unit is connection wise very similar to a Dune HD Max 8K with high precision TCXO crystal used for all digital outputs including clocking the mainboard. I neither does include a DAC. I got my Dune to use it connected via HDMI output to my AMP which the T8 seems to miss once more? It seems to only have a HDMI I2S output not to be confused (HD MAX uses an I2S-E connector). If it would have HDMI audio output I might even swap my A6 for one? Be aware: T8 specifies femto clocks like used by the DMP-A6 ME (and Zidoo X and Zidoo Alpha) not TCXO or OCXO. The benefit is perceived only when connected to DAC's not interfacing via XMOS USB. This can be using I2S or (very) expensive older generation DAC's prior to using USB with XMOS. I hence would expect it to be in the A6-ME price range indeed below A8. It can be very good for specific setups but for sure is not general purpose.
Hi Biamp, I tried a Simaudio Moon MiND 2. App was horrible and didn’t sound any better to me. I tried an Auralic Aries G1.1 anddidn’t hear much of a difference with that one either. It was preowned and defective so I returned it and got my money back. I usually purchase new. The only preowned item I own is a Moon 860A V2. Had a dealer try to sway me towards an Aurender N20. Way too expensive for my taste especially without hearing it. I do listen to Apple Music from time to time so I’ll stick with the A8 for now. I’ve spent too much money on audio in the last year!
Yes of course provided the USB DAC is a model without XMOS intermediate processing. Having XMOS it will run 100% on its internal DAC clock not using the source clocking at all. Why you think the new top DAC's use so complex and advanced clock circuitry. Just look at the new DAC-Z10 design. Missing is which inputs are exactly routed via XMOS, which I expect to be all as the DMP-A10 already does that.
The dac will yes. The transport still uses is own clock. It doesn't get bypassed. It still passes noise xmos or not
A digital connection adding noise (distortion) is a bad connection due to bad cable or connectors. Bad packets will be dropped very audible. Yes clock jitter may be added but that is it and the transfer yes runs at the speed of the transport but this is irrelevant as it is buffered by XMOS. So no noise/distortion ever will be added on a correctly setup interlink.
Xmos doesn't fix phase noise. Hence differences in sound in transports even through xmos. Take a listen to a couple different transports on a resolving properly setup system. You will hear.
Hello MACNET427, wow hey good for you, that sim audio moon mind 2. That really appears to myself to be absolutely and extremely Nice peice , I believe you said horrible huh. Wow kind of a shame. It did not work out for you.the Auralic Aries g1.1, I am a bit confused or Surprised on the ,Aurender N20, I’m sorry I do apologize. I was just curious as to the nature of your particular cause of not let’s say living up to your expectations. That’s some real nice equipment there real nice, The only other reason I ask is one of the features That I like about the Eversolo A8 Was it ability to accommodate outboard , CD spinners or dedicated transports in which I retained 2 However I don’t know how much they would be to your liking , I am an old VRDS DRIVE , I guess you could say a fanatic, I love those VRDS drives , just something about the sound,, quality just to myself , that is a beautiful amplifier that you are currently using, Unfortunately, I am A SET / DHT , guy . But if I was going to seek a solid state unit I would more than likely Lean towards what you are currently using, That’s a beautiful amplifier. Without question I really love those old transports, one is a WADIA T 20 & MAC MCD 751, Both units retain exactly the same drive unit under the hood, ;-) at present my only problem being don’t look for parts. There aren’t any, but I have been lucky enough to put away some extra pieces But as of this time, I haven’t had any problems with either transport, except for some minor belt replacement issues, which are still available,. as a matter of fact TEAC , just introduced a brand new unit not quite a year ago and brought back the old VRDS drive transport. According to Teac , there have been numerous request for these to be re-introduced, so they finally obliged, not identical to the old UNIT, but extremely close, I have them both hooked up to the Eversolo A8, satisfactory at this particular point in time I too subscribe to Apple Music, purely for the ability to listen and seek what I may be unaware of, but the Eversolo A8 is performing a pretty decent job at the moment and my other decision was based on I really desired or want it The 4499EXEQ set up, Everything will suffice at least for the time being at this particular point in time. I have a few other items on my to do list In other areas of the entire Audio system as a whole, Again, sorry for the late reply. I kinda lost track of your post sorry. Yes, that is absolutely some real nice equipment there you have going on, Again, thanks for your reply. Best of luck to you. Now and in the foreseeable future happy AUDIO journey, Respectfully speaking, thanks again, Have a great weekend ;-)
I actually don't know if you will get this post of mine, or you filtered me out. Nevertheless. you should always put replies into context. If you did so, you would have realized that my comment was not only appropriate, but also the very only one possible (apart from remaining silent; which I cannot do in front of such ignorance splattered all around the room...) Instead of posting 2-tome replies, IMHO, you should first read, then contextualize, then - and only then - eventually, respond. And criticize. Or apologize for misunderstanding.
Nutul I don’t personally know you and in all probability, probably never will, from interacting with an impossible countless number of people Throughout decades of time, by just following and reading your post. I believe you are a very astute individual, and also a true professional in your chosen course throughout life, and just my own personal opinion I believe you take this Eversolo subject a bit intense and way too Seriously, most of these users have just been so thrilled to get a piece of equipment, such as the Eversolo units that are obtainable in their Given circumstances, I do not mean to offend criticize or belittle. Anyone, up to an including myself. I’m using some equipment that’s 35 years old or older, I have no great assets or funds for such an inept hobby., so I think perhaps what I am trying to say is you and Keith Gets so far in depth that more than likely, the average person on this fourm will never ever come close to even encountering, You are a very knowledgeable, but technical individual like you had stated once to myself you are a tech guy, sometimes You may want to keep in mind that not everybody is such as yourself, lighten up the load a little bit and stop taking things so serious, we are not scientist our university professors here I believe everyone is doing the best that they can for such a mediocre product at it down to earth price for lack of better terminology, this is merely a hobby from a company That could be totally nonexistent as of tomorrow, however very difficult for some people which is totally understandable Bring it down a few notches, I think you’ll find all the settings will indeed work much better, thank you Nutul
I was surprised about the Auralic Aries G1.1 being defective but the defect showed with the first use. The audio cut off while the streamer was still reading the data. First occurrence, I thought was just a fluke. The second time I used it, it did the same thing 3 times. It was pre-owned that I bought from an online dealer. They had a 30-day return policy so I was able to return it and get my money back. The Moon piece sounded fine but the app was totally backwards and worked with DLNA and some other type of media server I wasn't familiar with. It worked fine with Roon but it didn't sound any better than the Eversolo DMP-A8. I bought that piece from the same online dealer and decided to return it since the app was really slow to reading my NAS. The new price for a MiND2 is $2400. I paid $999 for the used one and got my money back. I'd like to try an Aurender N20 but it costs $12,500 USD. While I am able to afford the price for a new one, I'm not sure I want to spend that much money only to find out there's not enough of an improvement to warrant that high of a price. I purchased my Moon amp as a B-stock and got 40% off the original $20K. The unit was tuned up at the Simaudio factory and came with a 5-year warranty. No issues with the amp. The preamp is a Mark Levinson No 5206 that was on sale last year for 36% off. I couldn't pass that up since I got a great trade-in price on my McIntosh C49 preamp. The McIntosh was just meh. I love the Mark Levinson preamp. My next jump would be a Pass Labs preamp with a separate DAC. I won't do business with the Aurender dealer near my house. I've purchased from him a few times over the last 15 years. The last transaction went south and I returned a pre-owned item and swore I'd never do business with him again. I'm waiting for the T8 to come to see what the build and specs are. Snice it will be a transport only, Eversolo may use higher end parts to build it like the A10. Although the dealer I purchased my A8 from told me not to spend the extra on the A10 as it wouldn't sound any different than the A8 as a transport. The same dealer also told me not to waste my money on purchasing a Lumin U2 as I wouldn't get any noticeable improvement over what I had already purchases. I've bought many pieces from this dealer, including the Moon 860AV2, and they haven't tried to upsell me on the last few items I bought from them. I'm pretty much spent on audio equipment now. I'm planning to retire next year and need to tighten up on my spending!
A so called streamer is nothing more like a computer that serves data packages via TCP. Once you know that and are able to understand this, there is no reason that a streamer can sound in any way. Data Packages bundled from zeroes and ones can not sound. But it`s hard to understand that one has lost thousands of euros or dollars on this audiophile bullshit. So keep on going and let the dealers milk this audiophile cow!
I had a dealer provide the advice last week that said if I wanted any real improvement it was best to spend money on an upgraded DAC rather than a streamer. I've had my share of audiophool spending. Rather than buying a Roon Nucleus, I bought an upgraded desktop and installed the Roon server on it. It works perfectly and serves the 1s and 0s as expected. While I don't need the DAC or preamp of the DMP-A8, the streaming sounds excellent. I may just run it until it can no longer serve the 1s and 0s. I sold a more expensive steamer since it didn't sound any better and had a horrible app. I love that Eversolo can natively steam Apple Music but music from my NAS sounds best to me.
Hey Macnet427 that’s funny, my older and a bit upgraded network attached streamer ,older & newer Mac mini M5 using an old MYTEK DSD 192 dAC actually, still sounds pretty good, To myself absolutely sound stunning I must agree with yourself, but the Eversolo A8 does indeed work out very well for my own particular set up, as I think, I did mention I have a few older way, older, standalone CD transports only, well, three I forgot about the REGA Apollo R, Just a nice little player, I myself gave up Entirely on dealers approximately 25 years ago,. when the last good gentlemen, as far as the dealer is concerned, unfortunately had passed away at that time, that was the end of my dealer days,, just speaking for myself,. kind of a shame, 25 years that’s a little bit of time, but I have found or unfortunately, again have not came across anyone even remotely like his dealership and himself as a person in this Audio, hobby or whatever new name they have for it today. no absolutely you did the right thing you’ve been there done that , but I have to be honest Mostly all hype to a very certain degree I absolutely agree., but if you have the money, they have the time, but you indeed did have And still do some real nice equipment, you got a hell of a deal on that amplifier, now that’s not hype. That’s a Beautiful amplifier , Unfortunately I gotta run, thank you for your reply as to my first post back to yourself as I stated, just inquisitive, I just wanted to add I have a little bit older, real good buddy of mine Still get perturbed at me, says I’ve been telling you for years all hype, I believe quite a few times I have to say he was wright Thank you I appreciate, if you ever think about getting rid of the amplifier let me know with all two respect please enjoy The music and have a wonderful week thanks again. ;-)
