Eversolo PLAY does not support Bluetooth to headphones

Eversolo have confirmed that the PLAY does not have Bluetooth transmit (tx) for playback to headphones and/or speakers.

    This is a MAJOR omission.

So, how likely is it that the sideload settings apk will enable BT x?

Seems strange announce a 1 box does it all device, yet no headphone output (unless you add another box for headphones). That's 2 boxes in my world.

    1. BT is far from being a SOTA lossless thingy. Yet. And a wonderfully performing DAC would only lose quality using BT.
    2. You can always use a USB BT-dongle that allows for BT TX. (albeit you'll lose a USB port, of course)
    3. You can always use a BT device that accepts analog input (via RCA out of the Eversolo) and transmits over BT: You'll be using the BT device's own ADC-DAC, but that should not be a problem to you, as BT is not yet a SOTA lossless protocol.

It's not about quality (my ears are shot anyway) in my case.
It's about convenience and not needing another device with power lead .

You can just plug in a USB Audio to BT adapter or install a Settings Shortcut APK into the play device and you will have BT transmissjon.

Guess I'll have to wait for someone to try the apk route before I commit

Cannot you try it yourself? It's an APK to be installed, not anything you need to buy...

Oh, sorry, you haven't bought it yet.

    It's not on sale yet...

Then you first have to wait for it to be on sale, then someone to buy it, then someone afficionado to BT headphones to try the route...
There is a good chance that once this happens, the Play Gen 2 will already be out...

  10. Still trying to figure out why this would be a target purchase for someone who wants to listen via Bluetooth. Just use your phone. ‍♂️

Why would you buy a high-quality audio player and then mutilate the high-end sound with Bluetooth headphones? But hey, to each his own.

    The thing is:
to do what you want to do, a computer is more than enough. Every service available on the Eversolo is available on your computer as well, and maybe even easier to be used.
A BT dongle is all you need. Also, if you have a laptop, not even that is needed, as there is most probably one integrated.
It's like buying a Mola-Mola Tambaqui (at several thousands $$$ - ok, not exactly the same, but you got my point, I believe) and totally throw its DAC to the wastebin by listening to it via BT, when to achieve the same sound quality you wouldn't need to spend a penny...

But it clearly leads you to the answer to your question as to why the Eversolo Play does not have Bluetooth.

    But...

    Thanks for the advice.
But that's not what I asked
Essentially, I am looking for a device with a larger screen than the Wiim Ultra. The bluesound icon is too proprietary, the NADs are overpriced.

Your PC / Laptop then fits these criteria perfectly.
    Or am I missing something?
And do not begin with "yes, but I would avoid the laptop, as it is noisy...", please; as it is contradictory to the BT use.
