Agreed on Room Correction thats for the A10. Fix the room, do not affect the signal. There are plenty of solutions that can add to a room visually and acoustically. If already running an upgraded LPS I haven’t seen anything in the A6 gen2 that would improve sound. The Eversolo gen2 will have enough power for an internal drive and self powered external drive. Be aware with aftermarket LPS they can affect your ability to connect unpowered drive externally or internal drive. Forcing you to turn down screen and volume knob brightness. I have bought many aftermarket LPS but I always ensured they exceeded the power requirements of device.
As I already said: let the jitter thing out of the equation; it won't happen. Any power drop will do everything imaginable, except introduce jitter. Full stop.
I have a DMP-A6 Gen 1 and never saw any reason at all to change the power supply. I'd rather spend my money on music and time listening to it. Just never saw the need to do these types of modifications on a well designed component.
I'm interested in the a6 ME gen 2, some dealers are already listing it but only in silver. Will the device also be available in black?
I hope so the website only shows black. Why are we not able to post links here? Silly. Anyway Google Eversolo A6 gen2 should bring you right to their website. Going to stick with A6 g2 or A6me g2. Really liked the sound of SACD 5.1 on HDMI output. If A6me has something to improve that will be my purchase.
EDRC room correction (Eversolo Digital Room Correction) Experience the perfect sound – regardless of the room acoustics! The EDRC room correction uses the optional EM-01 measurement microphone to analyze the acoustics of your room and optimize the sound for a unique listening experience. Edit: A German dealer lists this function but I'm wondering where the microphone is connected. In the rear area you can only find the ARC and trigger connection as new
Is EDRC eventually to be made available for the DMP-A6 Gen 1, even though only for the internal player? If not, why, since EQ is provided? It seems most, if not all, major rivals now, or will shortly, have some form of DRC, even those with less capable SoCs, and some costing significantly less.
I asked support about it and was told silver only. No current plans for one in black. That's a bummer but maybe not a deal breaker based on the gains over the A6.
@mlknez I have a Marantz AV10 (using Dirac) as well. Do you have the A6 connected via HDMI for mult-channel? Are you using Roon with your setup?
I'm wondering if they removed the hardware restrictions, so it's possible to run digital in - digital out.
This is what I do. The HDMI output of my DMP-A6 is connected to an Emotiva XMC-1 that has onboard Dirac.
I have A6ME -> HDMI -> AV10 for discrete multichannel, stereo dsd64 and stereo pcm 192khz and under I have A6ME -> XLR -> AV10 for stereo dsd > dsd64 and pcm > 192khz pcm I have HTPC with Jriver -> USB -> A6ME -> AV10 for native dsd when i want to use the Jriver player I have HTPC with Jriver -> HDMI -> AV10 for all formats except for dsd (including object formats, Atmos, and physical discs) I have Apple TV 4k -> HDMI -> AV10 for Atmos streamed music I have turntable, cassette, 8-track, and reel to reel -> AV10 for analog I do not use Roon as it doesn't quite cover all of my music... yet
I think Eversolo doesn't want to pay Dolby Licensing fees for Atmos, unless we are wiling to pay more? Also Roon doesn't even support Atmos (probably for the same reason of not wanting to pay licensing fees), so the rest of the ecosystem also needs to catch up?
The license agreement is only paid by the decoder. If eversolo would just bitstream out the HDMI port, they would pay nothing. Your preamp processor that is attached via HDMI to the A6 would be paying.
If true, this is good news. Then the question is, why doesn't Eversolo just send the bitstream signal? Are the Gen 1 and 2 chips capable? If yes, then we should all pressure Eversolo to do so, no?
