My guess is that the app is trying too hard to stay in sync with the device display, so it drops frames to keep timing aligned, which ends up causing the trailing effect. This is more noticeable in environments with poor network connectivity. It might be a good idea in a future version to add a simple option, like “prioritize speed/low latency” vs “prioritize display quality/smoothness”, so users can choose what works best for their setup and network conditions.
If this is something you really can’t accept, the safest option for now is probably to roll back to an older APK. The current version is running fine on my side, though. You could wait and see whether the next update brings some Android-specific optimizations before deciding whether to upgrade again. And don’t worry — new versions usually don’t take too long to come out. As for the difference between iOS and Android, it’s probably just handled differently on each platform, which might explain why the behavior isn’t consistent.
@Zidoo Support-Kim Don’t worry — I’ve already @mentioned the support team and suggested adding a toggle setting. Hopefully Kim can help submit this and get it tracked.
I LOVE that the newest update fixed the issue where Spotify skipped tracks when you paused the music. I hated -- HATED -- that. It's now fixed; it no longer happens! Thank you Eversolo!
I can only repeat that the current android Control app is a mess. IOS version is acceptable. Similarly the Squeeze Connect feature is horrendous - displaying a non editable Material skin interface is useless as there is no way to set & save settings. Check out Lyr on iOS on how to implement a decent interface. Eversolo should follow Wiim and simply implement Squeezelite as a player.
Hi there. Thank you for your feedback. I've confirmed to our R&D team that it would be improved in the next version of app.
