I have a few annoyances with how "my library" is displayed in the control app. In "albums", I can sort by "time, oldest to newest and newest to oldest" and by "year, oldest to newest and newest to oldest". But both are completely wrong. It seems like there's no sorting at all. And it would be nice to have a "recently added" tab too, showing albums that were recently added to the NAS music folder. Sort by time from OLDEST to NEWEST: I get the two new albums first, then an album I added 8 years ago that came out in 2007, then one from 2010, and it just mixes like that al the way through to the end. Totally not sorted for 1800 albums. If I sort by time from NEWEST to OLDEST: it starts with albums from 20 years ago, then a few that came out last week, ... again, totally not sorted. Sort by year from OLDEST to NEWEST starts with albums that came out in 2025. NEWEST to OLDEST starts with albums from 1973...
First I thought that I have the same problem, but then I found out that only 20 of my 2000 albums were sorted wrong - all a the beginning with totally different years ranging from 1970 to 2025. The solution: All of these albums had the same issue: in the Year-tag there was a date instead of the year only. So “2025-10-30” instead of just 2025. After I corrected it to year only every album was sorted correctly (ascending and descending).
That's just it, everything is tagged perfectly. So I have no idea why the A6 totally has no clue about sorting.
I don't think "Oldest to Newest" refers to when the album was released, it's when YOU added it to the library. So it will show the albums you added most recently at the top, regardless of the date of release.
There are both options. Unfortunately these options have different names on the device and in the app: “Sort by time” (device) / “Add time” (app): Time when added to the library (nothing to to with tags at all) “Sort by year” (device) / “Album date” (app): Tag “Year” of the files. As stated above: it only works with single years! For me both sortings work on my Play device and in the app. But there should be a consistent naming since might lead to confusion.
That "should" be it. But I've tried it again yesterday and removed all the music on my nas, removed the library in the Eversolo, rebooted the Eversolo, and then transferred about half of the files and had the Eversolo scan that bunch. Then this morning, I added the other half of the files and had the Eversolo update its library. The result: all mixed up and no clue about sorting. I have albums from the 50's up till 2025. THIS IS SORTING IN THE ANDROID APP: by time oldest to newest, it starts with an album from 2007, then 2010, 2011, 1997.... screwed up completely and not showing the albums that I added the most recently by time newest to oldest, starts with an album from 1992, then one from 2022, then 2002,... screwed up completely too and not showing the albums that I added the most recently by year, oldest to newest, starts with 2025 and goes down to the oldest album. So screwed up because it's reversed completely by year, newest to oldest starts with 1957 and goes down to the newest album. So screwed up again because it's reversed completely too. When I checked on the device itself, the sorting by year does appear right. Time is also screwed up.
