Eversolo A6 Master Bug Report - Music Albums Cover Missing - Firmware V1.2.98 1.Last month, with firmware version V1.2.50, I installed FLAC and WAV music files on the SSD for the first time. After scanning the files, the album covers appeared automatically. 2.After upgrading to V1.2.98, I used the “Clear Cache” setting in the Music App. After pressing the clear button, 3.All the album covers for the songs on the original SSD disappeared. 4.I deleted all the songs on the original SSD and rescanned the files, but this time the album covers did not appear. 5.At this point, the firmware version is V1.2.98. I restored factory reset for the Android system to its initial settings, reformatted the SSD, and reloaded the songs. However, the album covers still did not appear. 6.Some artist covers and songs did appear. 7.I suspect that the new firmware version 1.2.98 has a bug that prevents the album covers on the SSD from displaying. Please resolve this cover missing issue, Thank you.
I reuploaded some new music WAV files to my A6 SSD for testing. However, the music album covers are still not displaying. I tried using the Poweramp Music Player app on my cellphone with same wav and flac album music files , and the album covers display correctly there. Therefore, I can confirm that A6 v1.2.98 caused the missing cover bug.
Where are your album cover images stored or are they embedded? I store my album cover images in the same folder (directory) as the tracks on the album as jpeg images. Currently running v1.2.98 firmware without any artwork image displaying issues (well at least so far).
all mine are just stored in the album folder not enbedded. I label mine folder.jpg and they all display fine using internal ssd.
I always embed the album covers. But first I resize them to 250 x 250. Then their size is around 25 kb. I also store the resized covers in their respective album folders. I always name them "folder.jpg". I use the program Tag&Rename for doing this almost 20 years now. I have never had any problems with the album covers.
I use the app on a large screen tablet and a 250px image would look pretty rough when enlarged. All of my covers are 1500 x 1500 and kept under 1mb in size. They all load super fast and look amazing in all the display modes (currently using the internal ssd)
I have album artwork embedded in every single music file and most of it doesn't show up on the Eversolo. If i use Hiby and other software the album artwork shows up for every song and album. I think the Eversolo software is not picking up the artwork for some reason.
When I first got my A6 I did a few tests with artwork because I had used a previous setup that slightly different requirements. I confused myself in the end but I decided on not embedding the artwork as it seemed faster and better if you just drop a jpg or png in the folder. One some occasions the embedded seemed to take priority such as the little thumnails in the playlist view next to each track. That will display the embedded art, or any art in the folder if nothing is embedded. Can all be a bit confusing but overall I've been very pleased with the setup. There are just a few more tweaks and changes I've requested to be added in future updates.
....and I always use my tablet in landscape mode. Don't know if that makes any difference (it shouldn't)
Same here I`ve problems ripping CDs now (not all), some CDs fail to be recognized and the metadata is missing (oROM)display only I thought it was a metadata server at first
It’s a weird issue that the album cover can appear in version 1.2.50. The problem is, I just pushed the clear cache function in 1.2.98, and it all disappeared. The ID3 info is lost. I try to downgrade the 1.2.50. Unfortunately. Android system do allow the permission.
Single artwork in an album folder (or embedded) is no issue for me, but I have an album with various artists (compilation of 50 tracks I made myself and assigned same album name for each track) and each have different artwork (embedded, the folder has no image inside) and the eversolo shows same artwork for all tracks and does not recognise each tracks artwork individually. Thats is strange because my pc show different artworks so does my phone and itunes. This issue could be addressed. In previous version of firmware it had something to do (I figured) with scan setting "priority local image" but now it makes no difference if it's on or off. I'm currently on version 1.4.76
Usually, this scenario is called a compilation album, which has its own album-art... what you see on your computer is a clever implementation, but what you see on the Eversolo is the real-life scenario: a compilation CD has ONLY ONE COVER ART. You might achieve what you want creating a playlist, instead; but every file should belong to an ARTIST and an ALBUM; then most probably you would see the cover-art change at every track...
