I am facing an issue with one of the USB 3.0 port on my Z3000 Pro when I plug in an external non powered HDD or a SSD. If I plug in my DAS on the same port, I have no issue, with an ethernet speed at 100 MB/s between my PC and the Zidoo. But as soon as I plug in an external 2TB SSD or a simple HDD, the speed drop to 30 MB/s max after 2GB uploaded or so. If I plug in the same SSDs or the external HDD on the other USB port, no issue. That makes me think that one of the USB port is not able to power on correctly the external SSD or HDD, as they don't have their own power supply, unlike with my DAS. In my case, the issue occurs with the USB port n°2 : I tried 3 different SSDs and an external HDD of 4TB. The result is the same for all of them : - USB 3.0 port n°1 = 100 MB/s - USB 3.0 port n°2 = 30 MB/s after few seconds - USB 3.0 port n°2 = 100 MB/s with my DAS (4 HDDs in individual mode inside) and its own power supply. For now, I have my DAS on the USB port n°2 and my Samsung T9 on the USB port n°1. With that configuration, I get 100 MB/s for all of them through ethernet. But that bug bothers me for a brand new player. I ask to myself if that is an hardware or software issue. Just curious to know if someone else experiment the same.
A USB 3.0 connection delivers 0.9A = MAX 4.5 watts, a little low for an HDD without its own power supply. In which format are your drives formatted? I ask this because you achieve a speed of 100 MB/s via LAN.
All in NTFS. I used exactly the same devices on the same network with my Z1000 Pro, without any issue for both of the USB 3.0 ports. Everytime, I used the same Mkv files (big ones, from 25GB to 76GB) uploaded from the descktop of my PC.
This is very interesting now, because everyone has problems with SMB speed on Amlogic devices. Do you have a stable 100 MB/s or does it fluctuate up to 100 MB/s? This has also been confirmed by Dune Support.
That's quite stable : between 95MB/s and 105MB/s for the last part when I tried with the complete Lord of the rings trilogy in MKV remux (so over 300GB), to make sure that it worked correctly with the last configuration. Over 100MB/s for the most part of the time.

Looks clean, I have done various tests with the Dune without success. I also connected it directly to the PC and there was no difference. Also whether SSD or HDD, whether internal or USB. It always looked the same, like this:
At least, mine is really stable through ethernet, when the chosen USB port works as it should. MKV file (71.7 GB), still with a SSD in NTFS on the port n°1.
I have the pro8 3000 I have self powered usb on each. #1 runs approx 90>100 no#2 runs around 25. So you are not the only one.
Not Android, as @mirror writes, it is due to NTFS drivers under Linux. Dune Support says the same. With the Zidoo as I see it, it depends on the connection, but a stable and good speed can generally be achieved. I'm waiting for the next FW update, nothing else remains.
ok, replace the word android with "linux". OK now? Also I was wrong, my Dune is only running around 26. Been doing so much transferring of data to new hard drives my mind has gone buggy. (transfers not due to speed issue)
Is there a known issue with SMB? My Z30 cannot connect to my NAS (OMV). With the Z1000 or the Dune 4K Solo there was no problem, Windows also can find it. Only the Z30 cannot find the NAS. I tried all variation. (IP, Name, with or without credentials, // ...).
Not that I know of. I connected my Synology NAS using SMB without issue. When I added a source in HT5 or media centre it found the NAS on the network. I typed in credentials and all good.
To connect I just selected SMB and the my player saw my NAS on the network via the NAS name. I didn't need to type NAS name or IP address, it discovered it on it own when scanned my network. I selected a NAS drive and it prompted for credentials. I used account with RW access and that was it. Only needed to use sign in credentials first time.
Problem is solved. Under "quick scan" the NAS was found and the rest is working. Thanks for trying to help. Have a good evening!
I complete my observations with a new bunch of tests. I plugged my Z1000 Pro on my system with only the SSD on one of the USB 3.0 ports (so no DAS and no internal HDD). Same ethernet cable Cat6, same PC, same SSD, etc. Speed on both USB 3.0 ports of the Z1000 Pro : 100MB/s Just curious to know what would be the speed from the Zidoo to the PC, I gave it a try. Z1000 Pro first Around 75MB/s on both port Now back to the Z3000 Pro, testing the upload speed on the "good" USB 3.0 port (n°1). Not as good as the Z1000 Pro... Same test but on the "bad" USB 3.0 port (n°2). Even worst...
On my Z9X 8K, strangely I had 100 MB/s transfer speed on the first day, then afterwards all 3 of my drives have been limited to 30 MB/s. All drives are NTFS because ExFAT doesn't work with large files.
I didn’t try with the initial firmware but the issue that I found was there with 1.1.38 and still with 1.1.42.
