I doubt the The new one display would work either. I have limited time to return. My understanding is 3d should switch to 1920x1080. Not 1920x2055

Yes, but it is possible that this HDMI over ethernet 4K upgrade just doesn't communicate properly with your older HDMI spec'd display... whereas a newer display may have no problem... but, ya probably safest to just return it or exchange it.

Yes but if edid can fix it then no issue. I think I can use the old adapter alongside on the other input for now for the 3d but that isn’ta great solution

also checked latest projector I might get and none of them support a 1920x2055 resolution.

This is what I got from edid dump from windows. As can be seen, there is no 1920X2055 resolution so I'm at a loss. I did order another extender to test, but this one is supposed to be the best.

You have already identified the issue... your old adapter works properly... your new one doesn't and gives the wrong display info to your Zidoo and messes up your 3D playback. I know nothing about HDMI over ethernet adapters, but could this even be an issue with your ethernet cable quality combined with this 4K capable adapter? Who knows?....I would exchange it and try another one just to be sure... or maybe this type of adapter just isn't compatible with your old projector.
If you really want to mess with a custom EDID, you could probably hook up your old HDMI adapter, make sure everything works and then save your EDID. Then hook up the new HDMI adapter and load your saved EDID and see what you get.

    @robl45

No idea what's going on there - but 1920x2055 is not a standard VIC (Video Information Code) mode and not a resolution you'll ever find in an EDID.

Not sure what you used for that EDID report but it's only showing very limited information and not the full range of resolutions.

Can you post your EDID here:

    To Download EDID

Save to a USB stick or network location.

Yes I will try this again later. I tried to save last night and when I saved on my network drive, it was inaccessible, network issue I assume with my server and when I saved on USB it was size 0.

EDIT: I tried again and went into the projector menu and selected 3d frame packing and it works, for some reason with the new adapter, it will not autoswitch to 3d. I"m guessing Edid can't fix this? I attached the edid that I saved this morning just in case. I'm guessing if in someway the projector could think the 1920x2055 resolution is 1920x1080, it would autoswitch?

So the problem is only with 3D is that right?

As @Deano86 says, it looks like the extender is screwing something up but it's not EDID - my guess is it isn't passing the 3D message correctly.

Attached is the EDID report - the stuff to look at is Block 1 CEA. Block 0 VESA is essentially PC monitor stuff. You can see that 3D is supported in VSDB #1 which is the HDMI 1.4 block.

Yes, only with 3D. I have an older projector I will try to hook up today and another adapter coming. I thought maybe there was a way to tell the projector to take 1920x2055 and switch on 3D or something like that.

I've no idea where the 1920x2055 comes into it - it's not a standard resolution or aspect ratio and doesn't even make sense for Half OU 3D.

I hooked it up to my old projector and it went right into 3D automatically so I'm guess this projector is just weird. Sucks that I'll be out 120 if that isn't the case with the new projector though.

    Hi
I was able to get EDID reg for my OLED TV but unable to upload in zidoo z9x than Screen goes blank. I really try to fix picture quality on my zidoo. After some attempts i was able to make EDID but it only displays 1080P. There is no option in resolution for 2160P and only runs HDR videos and all DV videos display as HDR. I do not know how to make it right. Can anyone help?

I'm not really sure what you are trying to do here, but let's start by sending me your original EDID:

    To Download EDID
    ================

    Settings/Display/Custom EDID/Save EDID

Save to a USB stick or network location.

Change the file extension from .bin to .txt to upload to the forum

    Hi Markswift2003
Do i have to go in zidoo Settings/Display/Custom EDID/Save EDID ?

i have been using default Edid in zidoo or turned them off in both cases picture quality was not good over staurated and sharpness was bad. When i downloaded your Edid files hdr image became too dark but sharpness and framrate became better and dv was displayed very yellowish. When i edited your Edid hdr also display yellowish and greenish.
My tv support hdr 10 and dv its oled sony A84J.
Is that i can pull from zidoo ?Settings/Display/Custom EDID/Save EDID

EDID does not affect HDR image, sharpness or framerate.

DV colours can be affected by EDID because the colour primaries are defined in the Dolby Block. But these will be defined correctly in your own EDID if your TV supports Dolby Vision which I assume it does.

I don't think you need a custom EDID at all.

    hi
When i used your files 1000 nit 4000 nit 600 mhz. Sharpness and smoothness became really good but the problem was color. In some EDIDs it became too dark which shows hdr10+ and some are too much yellowish in all cases it lose its native color. When i turn off custom Edid picture sharpness tearing and color too saturated.
i noticed when i played video in HDR in 1080p with 8 bit RGB color was natural how i want it to be. But in 4k it does not show like that. i ll upload my Edid in a bit.
i have never done it before. So thats a address ? Settings/Display/Custom EDID/Save EDID

    Hi
Thanks for helping Markswift2003. Please find in attachment my default EDID . which i recently found out as you mentioned. I have played a little bit with my default EDID . I disabled BT2020ycc and enabled BT2020cYCC file and switched off max and minimum luminance thats solved my tearing sharpness problem.
and DV plays in really good quality. Now some scenes are too much washedout and loose their native color. Can you please help me out in this?

What happened to the 600MHz Rec.709 download? Don't see it on the first page but I do remember downloading it awhile back.
