Nothing to do Mark! Putting TV Led Metadata Bypass Auto back and changing both settings from YUV422 12bit to YUV444 10BIT, nothing changes, in black it tends to always be a little greenish. When I set TV-led instead, the problem disappears.

    Very odd...

If you want to try Mark, this is a clip of a few minutes. It's a very dark scene with a lot of black.

Anyway I think you won't notice anything...Each situation is different based on its own configuration. After many years I understood that the production of OLED panels, even of the same brand and model of TV, is never homogeneous and the same for everyone.

    That file isn't Dolby Vision.

The original file is in Dolby Vision. Something must have happened when I tried to cut it. I'll try again and send it back to you.

Hey Mark, I checked the settings in filmmaker mode both in the apple tv app and in the hdmi input. The only thing that changes is the "Video Range" item. In the Apple tv app the video range is set to "Limited" while in the hdmi input it is set to "Auto". I think this is the crux of the matter. This option however cannot be changed from the tv, it is set automatically based on the signal that comes from the source. I attach two photos to help you understand better.

Mismatching HDMI levels wouldn't cause a green tinge to the video - it either crushes black or elevates black depending which way the imbalance is.

I don't particularly like Filmmaker Mode - it's usually an excellent idea badly executed - it tends to disable too many functions - as long as all frame rate processing and colour processing is off, you should be fine - it's better to control these things yourself.

And what can I do to avoid this? Of the various video modes, filmmaker is the one that pleases me the most. Is there a way to make the zidoo output the limited video gamma instead of the automatic one? For example by changing the edid?

The Zidoo will output limited HDMI range (it's not gamma, that's something else) automatically, so no need to worry about that.

And if Filmmaker mode pleases you best, then definitely use that - it's all about what looks best to you and not what "experts" tell you ;)

I don't like it personally because I know what it's trying to do and I'm perfectly capable of making those decisions and changing settings accordingly for myself.

Above all else - if it looks right and sounds right to you then it IS right.

    Hi Mark,

Unfortunately I seem to be back to having issues with my Z3000 Pro. Works fine if connected directly to the tv but unfortunately when connected through the Matrix the picture is on for a second then off for a while. No idea what has changed other than we had a power cut. The settings appear to be the same on the media player. Any ideas what I can do to rectify the situation? I do not want to have it connected directly to the TV.
    Thanks

without being on site I don't think I can help much - HDMI Matrix boxes are a pain in the arse once you start upping bandwidth - you need to be aware of what modes require what bandwidth, what modes you're putting out and what the entire network is capable of real world - ie, including HDMI cables, taking into account length, from the output of the source to the input of the final sink (display).

Kind of glad I'm out the game these days and only have my system to worry about.....

Thanks. Yes they are a pain I'm finding. Disappointing given the cost of them.
I tried connecting my spare long HDMI from the tv to the media player and that was fine. Tried then plugging back into the matrix and now that's fine too. Don't understand this at all. Will just have to monitor.

I have a question for you @Markswift2003 : where can I find in the EDID file wich version of Dolby Vision my TV integrates (CMv2.9 or CMv4.0) ?
Thanks in advance for your answer.

Probably the easiest way to do it is to download the EDID from the Box (Settings/Display/EDID) and open it in this web site:

    EDID Decode

The report isn't well laid out, but look for a Vendor Specific Video Data Block (VSVDB) with an OUI (Organisational Unique Identifier) of 00-D0-46 which is Dolby's. It'll be near the bottom somewhere.

Within that block look for the DM Version. If it says 4.x or above then it supports CMv4.0, if it's v3.x or lower, then it doesn't.

I'm sure your TV supports it - as a rule of thumb, TVs made after 2020 support it.

You were right, I found the DM Version in the EDID and it's indicated 4.x. Thanks again.

    From another thread: -

Could you tell me where I should find the LLDV setting please? I have no idea whether I can use LLDV. I attach my current EDID (well I think it is) - thanks

You should know this! You've used an HDFury for years!

Yes, that EDID supports Standard DV and LLDV and you choose which to use in HDR settings.

That's me told off then

Thanks for showing the display screenshot - genuinely because the LLDV setting is the top one it's either scrolled up or I've missed it, thinking that it would appear after each setting - ie VS10 or LLDV. So thanks for clarifying so quickly - much appreciated
