VS10 has to be used regardless of settings if you are outputting DV, but the very fact that you didn't get a pink picture on a non TV-Led display means that the output was definitely not TV-Led DV.

    I guess you are right.

i always found HDR too dim on my tv so i used HDR optimizer on my pana ( what a magnificent tool)

and then on R_volution and zidoo i Use hdr to DV so that i can use DV bright preset on my tv, which i find more pleasant than dolby vision dark ( or HDR10).

i Kind of need to output HDR as DV, to use that workaround. so VS10 it is. a shame no media player could inspire from the HDR optimizer from Panasonic. it really works well.

anyway back on the DTS lipsync topic i think the landscape of people setup and hardware is too wide to identify what causes what. Just give us and offset switch for DTS Flags and thats it ! end of story !

Yes, I’ve got both TVs with a different Z9X 8K box and Denon AVR as shown in my signature. LG C3 is very closed to A2 model.

It's maddening that the offset hasn't been added yet. Having to explain to my SO why she needs to set a lip sync offset every third movie is beyond frustrating, especially after having justified a few thousand on this device lmao

  5. I have very inconsistent lipsync with Dolby TrueHD vs DTS HD master audio vs DD 2.0
    My "connections" are like this:
Zidoo UHD 8000>Denon X3700H>Sony X9505G via Zidoos main HDMI out to the Sony HDMI EARC.

    Huh?
    I would do:
    Zidoo UHD 8000 HDMI audio only >Denon X3700H ( > Sony X9505G hdmi input 3 )
    &
Zidoo HDMI main > Sony X9505G (any other then hdmi input 3)

You may try but I'm afraid it's unnecessary. If issue remains, then wait for next firmware about to come out!!

  8. Thanks for the reply but i dont understand.
    What would i gain?

DSD multichannel, Atmos on tidal. No (e)arc issues.
The video ouput is not limited to the video capabilities of the AV(R). you have a modern AVR so no worries there.
Still via (e)ARC audio is limited by the TV. The avr supports a lot more sound codecs/streams than the TV.
There is a chance you listen to downmixed and down sampled audio! Especially when you listen to hi-res music files

  10. Is that even though i have passthrough audio "activated" on my tv?
When i play dolby tru hd or dts x i see that on my receiver. Ive never tried atmos with tidal or dsd.
If i have connected as i responded will the audio go zidoo>denon>tv>denon or will the audio go zidoo>denon? Sometimes i dont undertstand the earc audio path. Haha

I have no clue on how passthough performs. I do not understand how it is even possible to function. How can a TV pass an AV signal trough as audio only without conversion?!
I'm worried about music codecs like PCM 88K2 or 176K. multi channel modes like 4.0 or 5.0 etc.

    enough reason to avoid it.

I've experimented with ARC & EARC - I always try and receive sound the way it was broadcast. Apps via my LG TV will only play in PCM via my Receiver so resorted to an old 4k Roku Stick which provides me with the broadcast sound quality - eg here in the UK DD+ is much better via BBC iPlayer than PCM and I've not mentioned Netflix Amazon Prime etc etc - so I don't see the point of eARC anymore

There is a fundamental issue with (e)arc. You pass the sound through an extra device which need to really understand the stream. To avoid any problems TV's tend to downsample and downmix to avoid silence. This is very problematic trouble shooting if it is not clear who is not understanding what and someone just decides to downmix it.
It's nice to avoid unnecessary calls from noobs "i don't get any sound. Can you come and fix it."
BUT if dumbing down technological advances by means of CEC or half working ARC or HDMI in general. Then its becomes difficult for even the smartes people on the planet to get a grip.
And 80% of the people are being let to believe it's all working fine. When in fact its just functioning at a bare minimum.
I hate HDMI and all it's chaos.

It really wouldn't surprise me that all problems with the 8K devices is just due to a rotten hdmi chip/lib/whatever

Just as a real quick feedback. Its here, its setup, its doing exactly what I want it to do, no stutters, no lipsync issues, perfect picture quality.
    But Zidoos posterwall is superior.
    Costs half for me.

The only problem I have is the constant stuttering with some movies and TV series in Dolby Vision. When zidoo solves this problem and the lip sync problem with DTS encoding (personally I don't have this problem), the zidoo will be a perfect machine that will overwhelm the competition.

Exactly these "only" two problems are the reason why the Zidoo was barely usable for me and I looked around further. Im totally happy with the Ugoos, but you have to like CoreELEC (Kodi).
If you have no problems with the oppoturnity to customize a lot, it took me nearly two days until I finished the GUI for me, because you have a overwhelming amount of options. I tried to get the best expierience like Zidoos posterwall, but this is really unique. And another thing I like the Zidoo more, the option to customize really every subtitle to your likings. CoreELEC needs a specific subtitle format, but I am okay with that, main thing was to achieve best possible playback.

Since this problem is solved since v1.2.22, I'm taking this thread off sticky.

As I don't see the latest update yet, what does "solved" mean?
With a workaround by way of a DTS-related delay slider? If yes, does this also apply to other affected formats like PCM, AAC etc.?
Or "really" solved without resorting to a manual workaround?

  20. Hopefully someone can help me with my probs.
Changed my system last week gone from top notch HT to a WAF system. So, I bought a Samsung HW-Q990D, joined that up to my Samsung Q95A and using a Panasonic Blu-ray and voor media Zidoo Z9X 8K, problem is whilst watching some series is the lip sync miles off, last nite I had enough, the Zidoo was cut loose and I installed my 2024 Dune 4k PRO and just like that all problems were solved!! I like the Z9X but it has to work for me, anyone know of any settings I could adjust/try out?? For info: I use 8k compatible HDMI cables.
