And as Markswift2003 has clearly explained in an earlier post, Pass-through Compatible Mode resolves some issue with Dolby-TrueHD only, not DTS-HD.

Yep, Passthrough Compatible Mode doesn't affect DTS audio.

Which is kinda worrying if people think it does because it just doesn't.

And when R_Volution got the same Problem this is maybe a Hardware Problem not a Software Problem? So it would be better to wait for next Player?

Now you got funny. How about testing the products before putting them on sale?
Making a media player that has lipsync is like selling a car that doesn't go reverse.

Hello, I have noticed the following.
When I play a DTS movie on the uhd8000, the soundtrack is almost synchronized.
However, when I skip or rewind, the delay is no longer correct. It also becomes out of sync until the Zidoo is restarted.
    Can someone check this too?

Just wait for the next SoC.

IMHO this issue will never be fixed.

Going back to my analogy of comparing this box to a car that doesn't reverse. What you are suggesting is simply: buy a new car.

It is simply shameful to launch a product of this value with such a serious problem that has no solution. This is not an irrelevant bug.

I honestly don't know how people don't get upset and accept this as something normal...

I think I found a solution for the sync issue in my case. Maybe it works out for someone else.

With the newest firmware I noticed some stuttering on DV+Atmos material, so I started fiddeling with the settings again.

Following combination gives me equal delay on Dolby and DTS tracks, so I could set one global delay and everything is fine now!

Display > HDR > Dolby Vision Output Mode: TV Led passthrough mode (CMv 4.0 forced)

Audio > Pass-through compatible mode: On
    " ": Synchronization correction: 200ms

I checked several movies, different codecs, restarted Zidoo multiple times, constant results for me.

    Maybe give it a try.

    Hello,

still fiddling with my new toy.

looks like in my conf, setting Passthrough compatibility mode to ON puts every kind of tracks to pretty much the same lip sync delay.

If i put a delay to -125/150ms ( cant decide yet which i like most) DTSHD tracks as well as True HD Tracks seem pretty good.

I've set the manual delay during playback ( the zidoo seem to retain the setting after reboot, which is cool.)

Would it be preferable to put the delay in General audio settings?

I have the option on my denon Auto lip sync to OFF.

I've tested only DTS HD MA/HRA and TRUE HD ATMOS so far.

Thanks for sharing, but unfortunately not working for me. No settings combination seems to get rid of the varying delays for me...

DTS lip sync issues are still present for me

No reason they can't "fix" it by adding a DTS specific lip sync offset option. I do agree though their reluctance to do so is tantamount to "never going to be fixed". Pretty pathetic.

I agree. The fact that we can "fix" it by manually changing the lip sync delay settings back and forth between Dolby and other sound formats proves that an "automatic" workaround would be possible and pretty easy to implement.

For this "automatic" workaround, the devs would just have to add lipsync offset options for various sound formats (Dolby, DTS, AAC, FLAC etc.) and offer 1ms increment steps (not only 25ms). All of this is already in place one way or the other (also the 1ms steps), so why the heck not add it?

Hello all, I have been reading through the thread but I am still confused about one thing (and about to buy a z9x 8k):

Is there way to bitstream to the receiver along with HDMI to have the receiver decode and not deal with the lipsync issue? Or is the lip sync issue still present in that case? From earlier in this page: is pass-through compatible the same as bitstreaming to the receiver?

My plan to to go from Zidoo -> Onkyo NR676 -> Sony OLED

Thanks for any help. Just trying to avoid buying and then returning a device.

    Short answer:
    Do not buy it!

In the current state the Z9X 8K is nearly unusable. It's not only the lipsync issue.
Theres a firmware thread people (including me) complaining all along about different things.
The lipsync issue alone is an absolute no go, but theres also a massive stuttering issue.

The best feature on this thing is the poster wall, but playing media files flawlessly, naaah not really...

Absolutely disagree with @Schmiddi as there many users don’t have lipsync issues. The actual bugs for this box are quite minor and they depend on each settings.

The box was unuseable for me and I had to return it.

it’s true many users don’t have lip sync issues, but at the same time many users do have lip sync issues.

For the users who do have the bugs for this box the issues are quite major issues, why? Because you cannot watch a movie when you have lip sync and stuttering issues.

I would not call these issues minor rather they are major issues in my opinion because they make the media player un-useable.

As workaround for lipsync issues, you can deal with AVR or box sound adjustement.

The audio adjustment options inside Zidoo settings are both not working anymore!

I was fine with the Zidoo before latest firmware update and before latets ht apk update and its not the settings!
Its maybe something with thousands of different hardware combinations, but look at all the complaining, I absolutely advise against buying the Z9K 8X if he cant be 100% sure and wants to avoid returning it.

If its working on your end - good for you.

I’ve tried the audio offset settings and they don’t work, so there’s no workaround if you are in the group that do experience the issue. My workaround was to return the z3000 lol and buy the z2000 which don’t have these issues.
