Hopefully someone can clear this up once and for all - do these players actually play the FEL layer on a Dolby Vision P7 rip? I've seen a bunch of conflicting information, and had been studiously converting my rips to P8.1, only to learn that won't convert FEL - only MEL. Debating whether to go back and rip my disks again, but also wish to know so I can decide what to do with future rips that have FEL
No they don't. But they do convert Profile 7 to Profile 8 on the fly so there is no need to convert your files to Profile 8. The only media players that can currently incorporate the full enhancement layer in playback are AML 922 and AML 905x4 players using an appropriate version of CoreElec.
