Hi, I hope I will get an answer from the devs to my topic. I learned today that the A6 is only AirPlay 1 and not Airplay 2 as advertised (still last week or two ago) It has been removed from the webpage of the product. Also it was meant in this post: https://audiosciencereview.com/foru...olo-dmp-a6-streamer-review.44198/post-1672262 can we get a confirmation that AirPlay 2 will be implemented?
I think it's mainly just about not getting the certification yet maybe? But anyway, I think Airplay 2 is more about better multi-room support isn't it? I don't think it has any benefit for sound quality.
Correct, in fact for Apple Music it down-converts every tracks to AAC 256 kbps, no lossless let alone hi-res (the A6 helps everyone confirm this very easily). Apple Music users have been waiting to get bit-perfect lossless and hi-res for many years and finally we have A6 to realise our dreams, so using AirPlay 2 entirely beats the purpose of getting the A6. But everyone has different priorities, multi-room listening does sound cool so I can respect that.
Thanks guys My points is that it has been advertised as AP2 (which has multi-room) and then you pay more than 800€ for that and suddenly you find out that its AP1 only where the connection is distance limited because of Bluetooth. AP2 uses a different protocol with Wi-Fi signal. I had the same problem with my bluesound node where I was not able to simply start AP from my balcony as it always lost connection. Therefore AP2 was a huge factor for me. I hope Eversolo can make a comment to that.
