It's just a string. Just like all the other tag strings. I ask for a user definable tag string. Not something specific.
Yes, but if it is not yet defined / architectired in the software, it needs to be implemented in a more generic way. Think it this way: usually, when it comes to sorting, the following ideas come to mind: ARTIST A-Z / Z-A ALBUM A-Z / Z-A COMPOSER A-Z / Z-A DATE (ascending / descending) Now, you may acknowledge that sorting by BPM is not that common, world-wide, right? So imagine for a second, that the sort engine, now, has to be refactored to include a new TAG (with all the naming standardisation that comes with it...). Moreover, not even a common-people TAG... Now, I am with you when you say "it's just a string", but then you need to know what content that string addresses... even the DATE tag is a string, but it addresses a DATE (dd/mm/yy, mm/dd/yy, yy/mm/dd ???). It needs to be parsed, it needs to be defined in terms of contents... numeric? what range? patterns? common / compartmentalized values? You may agree, now, that this needs time, and since there are more important things to be done (that is: fixed) it may fall down the chain.
Well, good thing this is the "feature request" thread and not the "I'm-judging-you-with-my-opinion" thread.
Mine was a philosophical question. You may be right in wanting such information shown; but, still, not knowing your sheep makes you a bad shepherd. I mean... how can you possibly NOT RECOGNIZE an artist in your collection?!? Are you just downloading s**t from the internet wondering what you just downloaded is?
Fair point. Some sorting options are difficult. Limiting custom tags to text and numbers would simplify a lot. (if you add leading zero's to numbers i believe they sort like normal text strings).
Chose any. I am not mad, I am just trying to figure out how in hell you happen to not know your library. I have 1500 CDs, roughly 350 artists. You put a track for me, and I can tell you immediately who the artist is. If you cannot, there are two possibilities: 1. you don't give a s**t about your music 2. you download random music to just see if you like it or not. 3. you are just trolling around, which is pretty acceptable. So. Which one is it?
Admittedly I didn't scroll through all 43 pages to see if this request has been posted yet. How about a FW rollback feature?
It can be done, just not at the touch of a button, or menu option. The procedure is not meant / designed for the very newbie, but it can definitely be done.
Yes I know it can be done. I'm asking for the "newbie" version as you call it. A version that would permit anyone with or w/o the appropriate skillset to rollback a given FW update. Also do-able.
If it's a "newbie" version, it should require no skills at all... I think there are some "philosofical" resons behind this: 1. security reasons, as an update could be addressed at it, and a roll-back could "compromise" the system 2. imagine the scenario when a new update adds functionalities / fixes bugs... there would be a huge flood of messages like "why don't I have this fix? - why am I still experiencing this bug? - couldn't just Eversolo add this fix alone in the version blablabla?"... you may agree. As I said: you can. You need a little cold-blood (as you are on your own), and a clear mind to follow the procedure. Since rolling-back is not an everyday task, and should never be used just to go back and forth among releases, a special procedure is more than enough. BTW, have you ever asked (or even considered asking) Microsoft if it could be possible to roll-back an update that screwed up your drivers / apps? I know, it's not the very same naked thing, but you got the point, right? Updates are supposed to end one day, after they accomplished fixing all the bugs, and adding all the possible / accepted feature requests. P.S. There is a post / thread about roll-back, feel free to search. Just quickly I can tell you that requires (IIMNW), an older update zip file on a USB pendrive inserted, complete device power-off, holding the (recessed) reset button pressed while you power-on. This is roughly how it goes, although it's not very different from what it really takes. Read the thread, as my memory fails, sometimes; especially on things I am not required to remember for my own needs. Just my 2c. Cheers, Al.
First of all, you can easily rollback MS drivers, even full on KB's. I do it frequently. As for the rest, you're overthinking it. Speaking as a decades long coder, for many platforms, including Android, it's 100% do-able...with the press of a button no less. In any event, I doubt zidoo would ever develop it. But would be a nice wishlist item nonetheless.
I was not talking about downgrading the drivers, but downgrading the OS that screwed up your drivers... it's different. Roll-back an OS secure update? In Windows? I'd thank you a million if tell me how (especially the "with the press of a button" thing). Now, let's be serious, as I am as well a many-decades coder.
I'm not going to argue with you further. It's do-able. As for the rollback feature for the eversolos, honestly who cares. It was a simple post to the wishlist, for OTHERS who may run into FW issues. Personally, I could care less
& Uhh format c: and reenter the install usb (floppies, dvd) That is not quite rolling back an individual update but a rollback.
You can do a format c: on Windows, of course. It's the second part of your statement that leaves me a bit perplexed... @Dlmarien, OTOH, would just laugh at you...
What are you babbling on about. Slow day on the forums no doubt. As for you laughing at me, seems to fit your profile lol Good night
