A vu meter for every channel that is being used. This could give feedback from channel count and signal level. If up to me: next to or part of the normal info page.
Vu meter aka peak meter The current VU meters that are selectable are analog representations. But the are more option for VU. Look at the VU next to the spectral analizer. but a peak indicator ontop of the VU would be nice. Especialy when we can program the attack and decay of the peak indicator. instead of indicating rainbows the peak indicator/vu meter could be represented like this
Wow last I looked the eversolo units have more VU output, display meters of numerous various types, then some Recording studios that I have actually been in, and they were running 32 & 64 tracks of input, an output Source material I understand what you’re saying and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, but I am just thinking Perhaps how many different style and configuration of input or output meters good one possibly need, but I must admit it is somewhat different, although somewhat useless other than it’s aesthetically pleasing appearance to some Idk but absolutely nothing wrong with that we all desire and would like to have different type of configurations of these type of devices some guys will even spend big money on a Darrow unit, I believe the spelling may be incorrect But that is it for real VU or monitoring meter, they are available on the Internet last I heard there are a couple thousand dollars For a halfway decent professional unit, but I must admit it can be a lot of fun. Currently, the 12V trigger output is set to 0V if the device is switched off and 12V when the device is switched on. My amp is set to switch itself off if it doesn't receive a signal within a specified period of time to save power. However, I keep the DMP-A6 switched on at all times because it serves files to my network. So in this scenario the DMP-A6 will never trigger the amp to on again. It would be great if the DMP-A6 would switch the volts to 0 and back to 12 - and effectively trigger the amp to on (again) - when it actually starts playing and thus sends a signal over the selected output.
That would mean that a lot of amps and other devices will switch off for just a fraction of a second. Most devices will not like that. Why not a 1: Off: (switch on the back off) 2: Standby: (trigger off, analog off, screen off but data acces and ethernet on) 3: ON Still i wonder if these devices are build to use as nas. But for my case i would prefer standby to be everthing off but immediately wake up on lan. So some user selectable variations would be nice.
Sure, you're right... I just wrote the first thing that came to mind but I see now the practical implications. Anyway, the use case is clear, maybe a technician finds a solution.
Replying separately: I think I read that from a pure electric standpoint it's less stress to keep a device powered on than often switching it off and on... especially considering that there are no moving parts inside.

Wasting energy to prevent a machine from being replaced or repaired seems inefficient) But in your post you said "switched on at all times because it serves files to my network" Continue acces to the nvme/usb drives might be a different load than just being powered on.
The clients only access it on demand, like PCs with music software like foobar2000 or Media Center like Kodi, so the stress to the SSD is not that big. Also, the device consumes around 12-15W which is fine by me.

Correct no moving parts inside however, there are a lot of electronic parts and components that would more than likely wear out or need replacement a little bit sooner from being left on all the time as the unit is basically fully powered up when you activate the unit and hear a series of relays in which are giving total commands to activate the entire unit as a whole, technically speaking capacitors, certain resistors, and other electronics being left on all the time would certainly shorten lifespan in any electrical device as such, but I would also like to comment I’ve had a 60 inch TV flat panel unit that has been continuously on for 11 years. Only the volume gets muted sometime at night. This is somewhat subjective and very debatable. Perhaps if it were turned off my own personal belief, I absolutely believe it would more than likely not being in use at this time, IDK I Think anything may be possible, but the Tv had been on a regulated power supply since new, yes, it absolutely does make me wonder have a nice weekend enjoy the music
You mean "Original release date"? The recording year could be something entirely different, especially for classical releases where the original recordings are often very old. When tagging with Musicbrainz Picard it writes an extra tag for the original release date (Ziggy Stardust, 1974) and in the date field the year of the release (Bluray-Audio, 2025). Since I personally don't like that I retag all my files with the original release date in the date field.

The decades genres have become completely useless because of the re-release dates being fed to the release date. Time to acknowledge this and use "rerelease date" tag for re-releases! Which brings me to user definable TAG selector/filter/sorter. In fact i would like to know which tags are written into the library. I wrote BPM tags into stereo tracks. I would like to sort my playlist to BPM. etc
That's very weird for you to not know who the artist is... it's your collection, you should know everything in it... For instance, in my collection there is no Ha-ha artist, nor Manowar, or Kiss. This because I do not like them. OTOH, if I chose a random album and track, I can easily get the artist and the track title; maybe getting the album too could be tricky, but not that important. Nevertheless, my player shows all the following information about the track I am playing: TITLE, ALBUM, ARTIST, YEAR, SAMPLERATE, BITDEPTH, FILEFORMAT (and a COMMENT field, that I use to classify Live / Compilation / EP / Single / etc. etc.) but this is another story.
This looks like too-specific a usecase. You cannot pretend Eversolo gets a custom sort feature for every tag in the universe, can you...
