Just to quickly pinpoint your problem, maybe a simple router restart will do the trick.

Rebooting the router was one of the first things I did. This is an absolute issue with the device. With Bluesound you can actually call someone and troubleshoot. This you cannot!

I thought you meant reboot the device.

So I plugged in an Ethernet and the streamer works and I can stream directly from the streamer but cannot sync my phone to the streamer. Bluetooth is on, bluetooth is connected to the player and both when the ethernet is not plugged in are both on the same Wifi connections. A cord is somewhat of a solution but now I have a big black cord running through our beautiful listening room and the Bluesound (in the same room) and our Sonos system all run wireless and off of Wifi. Being corded and not being able to use the phone app is just not a long term solution. Any help is sincerely appreciated.

I would expect that switching to wired has given the device a different IP address. Try rescanning the QR code on the streamer’s screen with the app on your phone.

Hi. I am not sure this will help.

After reading your experience here, I set up my A6 to be wireless. It works well for me. I tested using Roon, Tidal and Tidal Connect. I don't have Apple or Qbuzz so I can't test

Is it possible that you have a defective wireless unit since nothing on your A6 on wireless works

I've had exactly the same issues and tried everything - rebooting the phone is what fixed it. Just remember to turn off DHCP, for some reason it wants to assign a different address each time the device is turned off and back on otherwise which breaks the app connectivity.

I have the same problem with my unit I purchased today. Does not power up after power down with my iPhone. Loses the internet signal. “Connection failed “ Does power up manually.

I don't think, that you've the same problem, like us in may...
If you shut down the DMP-A6 in the app, then the eversolo will also shutdown the network interface. There isn't any (deep) standby mode. So you can't wake up the DMP-A6 over the network, but you've to use IR or manual power on it.

My workaround for controlling power on/off over the network is the use of a smart plug, which I can control with Tasmota (don't like cloud solution in here).

I’m not sure if this helps, but I’ve still got my Bluesound and the A6 wi-fi connection is far superior/stable (no contest). Even so, there’s a lot of brickwork/microwave ovens etc. that interfere so I’ve placed a wi-fi booster equidistant between my router and HiFi - the booster is connected to the router via wifi and then plugs into the A6 by 5m Ethernet (this works for me). The point I’m making is that Wifi connections are incredibly fickle and just placing the blame on the A6 may be too simplistic. You may have already tried this, but using the 2.4GHz, rather than the 5GHz connection helps with some of my ‘long-range/temperamental’ kit.

I have been working on this issue for 2 days and very frustrating. If the unit included a remote, I probably wouldn’t be as concerned. A $850 unit should not have these problems!
Tech support have not gave me an answer if it’s a software or hardware issue so I can replace it….

    You cannot fix it yourself:
    - when you power down the unit by the phone, it turns everything off, including the wi-fi, so there is no way the phone app can connect to it to power it on again. It's not an issue, it is, eventually, a design fault; as I seem to remember the A6 does not have a true stand-by mode, it is either ON or OFF.

Yes, it’s a bit of a pain and I absolutely agree, it’s a design fault. I’ve no idea why the A6 operates like this but, what I do (and I believe many others) is just turn the screen off - power consumption is minimal and you soon get used to it.

Did I understand it correctly, the device is either on or off, when I buy the remote control, can I put it in standby or still not?

With the remote you'll be able to wake it back up; as in "stand-by" it turns the wi-fi off, and at this point the phone app has no link to it, rendering impossible to bring it back to life...

I would prefer not to turn the device off,
so there are two options left: either turn the screen off or activate the screen saver, but of course I don't know how much electricity it consumes?
