Control4 Driver for HT 5.0

I have both a Z9x and Z9x pro. The older Z9X on control4 works very well and the driver returns the player state back to the control4 system:

    SendToNetwork : {"jsonrpc" : "2.0", "method" : General.Ping .....
    Player state: play

The Z9x Pro must have a slightly different API for 5.0 because that same method does not return Player State within any driver version 20, 23, or the really old version 6.

Is it possible to get a modified control4 driver for your products that use HT 5.0 to return the player state similar to HT4.0.

This would fix a huge issue for Control4 users using Zidoo newer products. Thanks!

I have a z2000 with control4 using the v23 driver. Generally, it works decent. I am curious what problem you are looking to solve by having the state sent back to c4. Lighting integration?

I also wonder if you or anyone else using v23 has the same problem I have. Every time I turn on my Zidoo and am controlling it with c4, sometime in the first few minutes after boot, the zidoo will just stop responding to any IP control commands. It’s almost like the commands get buffered in a queue for a while. When this happens all you can do is wait a minute or 2 for zidoo to “catch up”. After that initial freeze up, it works fine. This happens every time though. Right now, I turn on my system with c4 then wait a few minutes before so go down to my theater room to try and avoid this

I saw one other guy here with the same problem but I don’t think there was any resolution

By having the play status feedback correctly I can have lighting screen activate without using my halo remote. And most importantly if you have you media library in navigator you can click on a film have your zidoo start playback and with programming your media can switch on or switch over to the zidoo. Since playback status is being sent to C4. I can do this on the Z9X but not the Pro.

Also I don’t experience lag on my remote. But what it sounds like to me from what you are describing would be either you have things on different vlans or you may need to look at your switch layout if you have more than one switch that traffic is traversing. So if your AP is on one switch and the zidoo is on another. Same if you have different vlans for the halo and Zidoo maybe?

My halo touch, c4 controller and zidoo are all on the same flat network. The AP is a few switches away but same is true of my Apple TV and that works perfectly, so I do not think it is network latency related, especially because it happens every time, and only after initial bootup
