My Eversolo A6 (se) is connected to Hugo TT2 (via Coax or USB, no Mscalar) playing lossless Roon/Tidal, driving high quality headphones.

Question for those of you using the A6 (as a streamer only) to drive a quality chain: does the Beatechnik LHY LPS, provides a meaningful or minuscule upgrade to the sound quality? or is it a waste of good money?

    Appriciate your inputs.

    Thanks

As I have reported before on this topic in this forum, I use my A6 as a streamer only and fitted the Beatechnik LPS-A6 unit. I find it had a small effect, slightly more body to the sound. This is indeed a small effect and difficult to be certain about unless you can directly compare an original with a modified unit side by side.

It won’t make the slightest difference, if you really want a valid comparison buy two units switch the power supply in one ( invalidating any warranty) and then compare unsighted.

    Quote from LHY Audio website:
"Audiophiles are renowned for their relentless pursuit of perfection in music equipment, constantly striving for even the slightest improvements. This quest for perfection is an ongoing journey."

And that's exactly what they abuse. I read all the main advantages of the LPS-A6 on their website and I don't have any of such problems with my DMP-A6. It's just throwing money out of the window. But as Purité Audio wrote, imagination is a big thing. Once you spend that much money for a useless device, you'll try to convince yourself that it made things better.
It depends on you. If that amount is your daily pocket money, why not, go for it. Otherwise you should avoid it.

You could spend that money making actual tangible improvements, a microphone and download REW for example.

I did the upgrade and I think it improved the bass quality and lowered the noise floor. Not night and day, but I don't regret doing the upgrade at all.

Those contributions you mention, are those related to the A6's internal DAC, or to the A6's streamer (i.e. external DAC)?

I use the A6 as a transport to my DAC.

Congratulations! Then you have made the impossible possible.
Ever thought about the physical facts?
Then you will realize that you are mistaken.

A lot of people made a similar upgrade, including me (I mean upgrading to LPS for A6 in transport mode connected to external DAC).
The audible effect is the similar as well - more weighty bass, a bit richer and natural vocals. Difference is subtle though but is definitely there. Considering your DAC is of quite high grade, that “investment” is definitely worthwhile. I am sure you will not regret

Power supply can’t do any of those things, a ‘boutique’ power supply can only improve a component if that unit’s filtration and regulation is heroically poorly designed, which the A6’s isn’t.
    Just your imagination.

Your statement is based on the assumption that model of human hearing system is ideally perfect. There are no perfect models of physical world

I often wonder what people do with their OEM power supply boards. Put them in a drawer or cupboard and forget about them?

Yup, that's what I've done with mine. :)
