This is a suggestion for Zidoo to change the setup option for USB-IN with HiFi player UHD3000. Now there is a 3-way "Source In" setting: "Turn off DAC", "Internal Player" and "USB IN" which is not the most optimal choice in my view. I suggest using 2 coupled choices instead: - "HDMI output" or "DAC output" for setting "Audio output" modes - "Internal Player" or "USB IN" for setting "DAC Source" modes The DAC is never turned off this way. Obviously this method will enforce an implicit combined setting change when a DAC resource conflict arises. A pop-up warning will do as a warning. Advantages: - Most will toggle HDMI-output and DAC-Output only. That goes in one-step then instead of requiring two now each time. - I think it should enable USB DAC-IN analog output concurrently to be used with Video/Music playback via HDMI. Using an External USB DAC with Z9X playing via UAPP I was able to play concurrently a Video /Music via HDMI on a single player. Using 2nd zone on my AMP I could even do that sharing also the same AMP.
Hello nice monkey. I downloaded audio files to hard drives 96/24 and 192/24 but zidoo does not play them. When I start them (obviously with internal dac) he lets me out everything at 48/24. Furthermore, if I start a movie with stereo track pcm 96/24 the video slows down and does not decode anything. Can you tell me what I have to set on zidoo 3000 to get everything out at the right resolution? I thank you so much. joe
http://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?thr...useful-stuff-for-hifi-players-playback.86336/ Sampling rate control => Digital Output: Native sampling rate (=via HDMI) Sampling rate control => DAC Output: Native sampling rate (=via external USB) Indeed my description is probably wrong as the first applies most likely also to Internal DAC. Always set that one so never really tried.
Thank you very much monkey ..... my problem is that by setting the internal dac as you say and starting the "sting live in berlin" concert the pcm 96/24 2 channel stereo track is played as if it were in slow motion. The video also goes in slow motion. The concert is on a hd inside the zidoo. Where am I wrong? Can you give me the right setup? Thank you thank you.... Joe
Looks like a player FW problem to me. Definitely not a setting. Will try to reproduce. You tried also after a reboot?
I have the latest firmware installed ... v6.1.15 (_G) beta. I have rebooted several times. It also seems very strange to me that the 96/24 can't get them out of the internal dac ... I also downloaded a 196/48 hires audio file but it doesn't play it. (Always saved on internal hd) Instead from hdmi everything works. Hires files play smoothly. Do you think it's a beta firmware issue? You should hear the zidoo developers what they say ..
Be aware the example you gave me is NOT played with MP6 but with Video Player as it is a BD concert and just seen by the player as a movie. I added a piece related to BD Concert and BD Pure Audio albums to the DVD-Audio chapter Tried that BD and the answer is YES and NO if I can reproduce. The problem is indeed as you described when playing without BD menu. The DTS MCH track plays fine 5.1 (reporting erroneously being 7.1) and when switched to 2CH PCM video+audio run at double speed. When playback with BD Menu is selected 2CH PCM plays just fine. Happens also with HDMI output. The video format is not very common as the video is recorded in a 1080I29 format. It is being played back at double frame-rate 1080I59 which seems to cause the problem in combination with 2CH PCM without using menu. As Zidoo is using 2 different video players I learned to try always both modes. I do like the sound of the DTS 5.1 track more by the way.
OK thanks... actually the file is saved as "concert only" with no menu. I try to create an iso file from the disk, save it on the internal hard disk of zidoo and see if it can read it by activating the audio track pcm 2 ch 96/24 from the dac. I also like the dts master audio track a lot, I just wanted to try the goodness of the dac. Can you tell me what are the two different video players that zidoo uses? (I'm a little confused) I do some tests and then update p.s. actually I don't even understand why almost all concert videos are made 1080 / 60i p.s2 sorry for the translation but I don't speak english (from italy)
Zidoo uses 2 different user interaction engines using the same core Video Player I think. Each has regularly different problems with source formats and options. Concerts are typically captured by a TV crew using TV camera formats and frame-rates. Movies get the typical cinema formats instead. A lot of technology history there which is still carried along. Don't worry about your English. I am Dutch myself so not perfect either, but who cares as long as we get our messages across.
I did some testing with the bluray of the concert of "sting live in berlin" recorded 1080 / 60i video, audio tracks DTS-HD MA 5.1 96/24 and stereo pcm 96/24. The results are these: HDMI OUT: Movies with menus: Output all tracks are reproduced perfectly. MKV Movies: Output all tracks are reproduced perfectly. XLR OUT (DAC) Movies with menus: setup: dac native sampling rate. DTS 5.1 48/24 (no HD MA) >>> Pcm 2.0 48/24 output PCM 2ch 96/24 >>> plays at slow speed (bad) pcm 2.0 48/24 output MKV movies DTS 5.1 48/24 >>>>> pcm 2.0 48/24 output PCM 2ch 96/24 >>>> plays at slow speed (bad) pcm 2.0 48/24 output Even setting the zidoo in 1080 / 60i output the result does not change. In your opinion is it a firmware bug or is it a limitation of the zidoo? If there are other tests I can do or other setups to try let me know.
You could try forcing 1080P30 output. Yes this is a double bug: Playback without menu not working and DAC output not even working with Menu.
I tried to force 30i video output but it doesn't change anything. You were right that the dts hd master audio output is wrong: it says it is 7.1 instead of the right output is 5.1. Taking these tests it crashed twice. I had to turn off and on from the rear button. I've tried other 96/24 titles as well but they all have the same problem. Is Zidoo already aware of this bug?
They read along here for sure and the list of known problems is relative long. We can only hope for a good bug fixing update. The last updates were more about adding things for VS10, EDID for video player and USB DAC-Output, 24-bit PCM and Gapless playback for Music Player. Those came with more new bugs than others being solved.
