Concerns about updating to the latest iOS app and firmware versions...

I'm not sure which Eversolo iOS app version I have but see there is an app update when searching on the iOS app store. How can one tell which version app they have? I'm a bit hesitant to update the app as I like the layout as it is. Are there any big changes or issues with the latest iOS app version.

The one issue I'm having is an intermittent loss of connection with my iPhone 13. If the DMP-A6 is powered off (power cable pulled) for a few minutes then powered back up the app reconnects. Is this issue a sign that the iOS app should be updated? The firmware is v1.4.32 which is not the most recent. I'm also hesitant to update the firmware to 1.4.76 as everything (accept the app loss of connection) is working fine.

Any thoughts on my concerns of updating to the latest iOS app and firmware? Have both updated versions been out long enough that any issues have been resolved?

As for the app there is a new layout but it is possible to switch back to the old layout

Hi Bill, I would say you were absolutely safe with the newest upgrade, V1.4.82 .I have updated my A8 to this version approximately 2 weeks ago, I am
Very pleased with it , I absolutely will not take / accept ANY up dates or upgrades until they have been in use for a while after released , I can honestly
Say I have had no problems with it whatsoever, this version, 1.4.82 was a short update version after I updated from 1.4.76. As a matter fact It did make
Some small improvements in certain aspects and areas, I would recommend it absolutely it’s good to the best of my knowledge, in its usefulness
It did also provide more gain in the usb output and also the spdif output gain, a good thing for me , due to myself using standalone devices, Dac;s
I due have more than enough gain output from this upgrade, I bad to drop the output level down by approximately 5 or 6 db depending on the
Source material being used, this new update/upgrade also gave complete control and better performance of RC , ( room control) use and improved performance
I am really not a fan or user of , but I must admit its very good, for those who want to participate and use , sorry Bill , if you go onto your main screen, Then push the settings icon, then go
All the way down until you see the word ABOUT, You will then see a screen that will give you the device name model version and all other pertinent information. That’s exactly the way I use my A8 in order to view this, there are also a few other ways to accomplish this, but I find this may be the most simplest and direct way of doing so good luck ,

I also have and use a IPhone 14 pro version? It’s to date I know that to be certain, I also have the same problem with my iPhone just as you have stated with your iPhone, and also had the
Same problem as before this update, but perhaps not as frequent,
    ,
Note ,On and off ,it loses connection ect, but I hit the screen icon on the iPhone from the Eversolo app and it’s fine again, I use an apple air pad also with
Absolutely no issues or problems like this at all, nonexistent issue with the air pad, it’s ok it was a gift :) oh well …..
But again I’m always very and extremely cautious about new upgrades or ect , however this was a bit of an asset, yes absolutely, works fine
I knew I had to have at least one complaint, :), when listening to internet radio, and shut the A8 Down for the night, upon turning the unit
Back on , I find it’s on a different radio station or just defaults to my Apple Music app icon, in which it is most likely a settings that thst defaulted
To a different system mode setting or selection,
THE 1.4.82 has been very successful at this point in time,
Best of luck to you, enjoy the music ……

    2nd issue
**Note/ IDK I have also given this thought at one point in time, but from what I can gather on
Rolling back different versions of firmware can cause quite a number of problems
I was told if need be stay away from it as it was listed as dangerous to roll back in certain or some cases as was stated to me from someone with very high knowledge levels of this issue, unfortunately,
I do not retain or have any further knowledge that I could state in any other way good luck everybody enjoy the music

Thank you both @Imaodoloro and @Biamp300B for your thoughts they are much appreciated.

How does one revert back to the old layout if the iOS app is updated?

I just updated to the latest app version and it's great! Thanks to @Imaodoloro I was easily able to revert back to the old iOS layout. Being able to see what's playing on my iPhone 13's lock screen is a huge addition IMO.
