Does it come with 1 or 2 AK4499EX chip?

When I first read that it has AKM, Femto sounds good, but interest definitely waned when it indicates it does not support MCH HDMI.

I will keep A6 just for that feature. I am pretty certain I will swop it to the A8 if MCH HDMI is supported

It think it comes with an AKM set of 2xAK4499EQ + AK4149EQ. How these exactly interwork is still unknown by me. Using dual DAC's (L+R) is not always considered a better design by some very critical listeners.

The link gives the actual status of known and unknown by me. The unknows were asked at Eversolo by me too obviously.

The A8 can make a really excellent External USB DAC combined with the A6 for those wanting MCH+HDMI too.
Might consider such a setup myself.

Thanks for your reply. The reason I asked is there are 3 AKM chips shown in the inside photo and this is a typical configuration for 2 4499EX + 1 4149EQ

Transparency just means the component adds nothing audible to the signal, you hear exactly what is on the file, providing you also have well designed loudspeakers.
It is quite possible an individual may enjoy added distortion , as long as you understand that it is just added distortion I don’t see any issue.

I understand it is added distortion. And Marantz understands as well and put the HDAM modules on purpose. And Marantz customers pay a premium for that. At the end what matters is if sound is enjoyable

Paying a premium for distortion yup that makes prefect sense.
I have spent my audio career trying to eradicate distortion.

If you add enough distortion you can reach the ultimate goal where you no longer actually recognise the song.

Exactly. And that would be an A4 if you ask me.

That product makes sense to me.

No I insist here it is an DMP-A6 Bronze Edition. Keep it again identical and just leave that Silver Edition DAC out this time. Easy for logistics and FW support. Why a new model?

    Yep. :D

Just realize you are doing the same everytime you say how great it sounds and how neutral it sounds. What sounds great and neutral to you can mean bad and bright to others. Super transparency to you means in your face to others.

No. Removing a HUGE feature that probably represents half of its market is not a parts change out like the gold edition. A change that big is an entirely different model because it no longer serves the same function. The gold edition A6 serves exactly the same functions as the silver A6.
