There is any drive capable to read SACDs files ?

I’m sure, there are still some SACD players around.

I have a Magnetar UDP-800 Blu-ray player that also plays SACDs and downloaded .dsf files.

Out of curiosity, what can you do with a SACD reader, since:
    1. cannot output the SACD layer digitally.
    2. the A6 does not have any analog input.

Exactly. I would Mike to find one capable of output SACD layer digitally….

    Who's Mike...?
There isn't a single SACD player that can output SACD-layer digitally, unless it is one of the known models capable of being hacked with some ad-hoc software.
So yours will be a two-step hunt:
    1. find out one of such models, @Bergholdt has a list (more or less extensive, but also GIYF)
    2. find the hack, install it, and rip your SACDs

Some universal players have HDMI output which can send out DSD. There are some third party boxes which claim to extract I2S from such HDMI feeds. You could then feed this into an appropriate DAC. However most SACD players will not send out the actual DSD or sometimes no digital at all. For example the recently announced Shanling SACD player model SCD1.3 has a digital output but it is PCM 88.2 kHz not DSD. You can also find out how to rip SACD discs from some universal players on You Tube, where new boot software is used to take control of the player and to accept commands from Java programs.

Well, the Magnetar does HDMI out as DSD Native (or PCM which I use).

And my DSD and FLAC multi-channel files stored on external USB drive can also be output via HDMI.

I’m not an expert on how data flows. I just got the Magnetar for multi-channel output when I sold the A6 and got the A8.

I have a few SACDs now and it’s nice to be able to play those too.

With mShuttle on the Blu-rays, I can extract FLAC files from the discs via the players IP address.

Are you looking to extract .dsf files from an SACD drive?

Wait... you say the Magnetar can output the (say) 5.1 SACD DSD to its digital outs? Or even 2,0 DSD for that matter...

Correct, I use it with HDMI out only.

Playing a multi-channel SACD (from the 2L label).

Many thanks. Yes. To listen and eventually rip. I would like to see how the DMP6 Master DACS deal with SACD files compared with my Marantz SA KI Pearl…

There are people on this forum who rip SACDs to .iso files, I believe. So it can be done. Also, you can purchase and download .dsf files online…

The Denon DVD 3910 also used to play SACD via HDMI, the so called Denon Link. HDMI was accepted as SACD digital output because of the HDCP copy protection.

Interesting! Could you tell us your lineage? The Magnetar player is connected to the A6 via HDMI only? I have an Oppo UDP-203 which I've been hoping to be able to use as a CD+SACD transport together with the A6. I just haven't figured out how...

No, sorry. My Magnetar is not connected to my A8 (I sold my A6 and needed something to play multi-channel files).

The Magnetar is connected to my AVR/Surround Hub (a Platin Surround Hub based on the WiSA standard. I have active/wireless WiSA speakers from Buchardt). I did not get it to rip SACDs just to be able to play my multi-channel DSD and FLAC files which it does from an external USB drive (except DSD512 which does not play). I output as PCM via HDMI. The Surround Hub does not play native DSD.

Just for the fun of it, I tried connecting the Magnetar to the HDMI ARC port on the A8 to see if the A8 would play my SACDs that way. But there was no sound - even when the Magnetar sends a PCM signal.

This thread was started 7 months ago and still no solution at the horizon. In the meantime the discussion is drifting away from the main subject: CD ripping.
We are still waiting for some statements from Eversolo:
-1- Which CD drives work consistently ? The Lenovo drive has been used by Eversolo on its tutorial page but some customers have reported problems with it.
-2- What seems to be the root cause of the problem: Is it a power supply problem as suggested by @mirror or is it a firmware issue ?
While I appreciate the overall performance of A6, I am unhappy with the CD ripping problem. I bought a 4 TB SSD to put my CDs on it and now this has become another dream project.
Personally I use with success an old external Apple CD Drive (about 15 years old ?) with just the Apple logo on it (no name, no serial number). Ripping CDs works, but getting disk info is temperamental ( less than 50% of my classic music CDs). Even once the info appears, the resulting file might not include it or mislabel some tracks…

As far as I see most drives now just work. Using a 25 Euro drive myself. Even such drive sounds just great.

Finding the info/metadata is another story. Most people use a good program on a PC for that. Plenty around and for free included.

Ripping SACD using Eversolo. Just forget about that.

I too have the Magnetar. One of the issues I have is that when I playback multichannel dsf it won’t display cover art. Is this also an issue for you?
