For those who already upgraded to FW 2.1.30 and 2.1.36 the bug is fixed in 2.1.40. I watched 4 movies so far and no audio drop or handshake issue!!!
Stay tuned as I ll do further testing...

    Hello evey one,
    I can’t downgrade to 2.28 .
I still have my trouble :
    • Player reboot without reseons.
    • Sometimes when movie playing it’s cut (black screen a few seconds) and come back but lost some seconds.
    • Some movies in 7.1 can’t play.
    thanks for your help.

Do you have 3D ISO movies to test? Latest firmware for Z9S has seamless branching fixed in UHD but introduced it in 3D.

I did 2 tests with the latest spider-man movies which I have in 3D ISO. Both are working fine so far... 2.1.40 + later FW(official) seems promising....

    Update:
I still got audio drops with .40 on my Denon AVR

    But:
    Not random anymore!
I can time it now after exactly 44 seconds within a movie.
Not sure if this is still the same error, but this really helps with testing and ill try out different settings now.

Is this the only time you see it? Once per movie at the beginning 44s. into the movie? Any movie?

It was random above .25 and below .40, see the thread before.

Its now exactly at 44s in .40 Firmware.

    All 1080p, 2160p, mkv files
Audio tracks starting from 5.1 , mostly DD+ and Atmos

I can rule out a lot of settings by now and also tried different HDMI cables and ports on the Denon AVR (X2400)
Also tried to disable ARC and all sort of HDMI controll settings.

    Something definitely changed in .40
I just dont know what exactly.

Well if it doesnt work ill just flash back to .25

Had the audio drops in .40 too. Not every time, but with every audio not only DD+. Went back to .28 and I think I will stay threre forever...

Uhhh Ok.....so your "testing" of 2.1.42 on the X9s actually consisted of purchasing a Z9X instead! Excellent!

Didnt update myself so far, but at a german message board there was still a reported drop in .42

Ill still test myself when i get the time... so far it seems that this easy isnt that easy to reproduce.

I've using long time version 2.1.28 and everything was ok with sound, after tried to upgrade to 2.1.40 and started a lot of issues with sound
I'm using SPDIF and old Onkyo AV receiver (i like it sound and doesn't see any sense to upgrade it right now)
General symptom is Zidoo send some signal and AV receiver stops to play anything at all. Solution is only connect receiver with another devices to like "reset" and try to connect back to zidoo. This was happens not very often with .40. After upgrade into .42 it's started to happen very often.
I've downgraded into .28 and issue with sound gone
