I want to connect my Magnetar UDP800 UHD player to my Z-10 via the second HDMI output (audio only) for playback. Which input should I use: HDMI ARC/eARC or IIS? I have already tried both inputs while playing a 24/96 stereo Blu-ray Audio disc, but there was no sound from either input. The Magnetar is supposed to output the signal via both outputs simultaneously. I have tried both PCM and Bitstream settings. Could it be that the Z10 doesn't support HDCP and that's why nothing is coming through?
I tried analog output connect with my Amplifier, but I find analog output from the UDP800 is not so good. Optically I can not reproduse Stereo Sound from SACDs.
If you want also send DSD to the Z10, you must use I2S or SPDIF and for this you need a HDMI Audioextractor which sends DoP over SPDIF and/or I2S. Also take care: HDMI (e)ARC is not a full featured HDMI in!
Isn't there a USB output, to be used in conjunction with the Z10, to transfer DSDs in a more easy way?

for the I2S pin layout I think you need to look on the PS Audio site, if they publish such a thing, then match it on your Z10. Alternatively, of course, if someone here around has a device like yours, and succeeded in connecting it through I2s, may share the settings. Hope you get it sorted out soon. Regards, Al.
try mode 7 or 8 (take care about potential channel switching), but you can (if you're only using standard SACDs and not DSD files with higher resolution) also use SPDIF, because the audio extractor encapsels into DoP and then the DAC sees DSD. I'm using the extractor in this way with the Z8 and an oppo player.
Hi, I was also dealing with this, but with connecting the UHD8000 to the Z10. First I bought the HDMI extractor mentioned above, but it only supports DSD 64, it connected right away.
I found an old Clicktronic HDMI converter that outputs the signal via coaxial. This allows me to listen to SACDs as well, provided I set the player to output PCM. The sound quality probably isn't as good as a direct HDMI connection, but it will do for now.
Hi, as a workaround I am using the Orei 8K HDMI™ or eARC Audio Extractor-BK-929 https://www.orei.com/products/8k-au...-earc-output-for-dolby-atmos-and-dts-x-bk-929 *You can also check their website as they might have release a newer version. What it essentially does is take the full audio signal coming in from the bluray player and it sends it out flagged as an "eARC" signal. I connect my Sony BluRay player to it via the normal HDMI output. Then I connect the Orei to the TV and the Eversolo A8 ARC input. Its works really well. The bluray player does the decoding to PCM, but maintains the bits and Khz perfectly. No downsamping to 16bit/48khz. When I cycle between different audio streams, no problems. I've listened to SACDs, but cant remember if I sent the signal DSD or PCM. In the website it states that it supports DSD, but it is omitted from the manual. Anyway, the device really works well. Also Orei tend to have a few specials during the year could pick it up for a bit cheaper. Hope this helps. ***Just some rambling directed at Eversolo I so hope Eversolo would replace the ARC with a Standard HDMI port. eARC/ARC output from TV limits the output to 16bit/48khz. If you wanted to connect a TV to a high end stereo dac, just use Optical connection. For the intended high-end Stereo audio purpose, a Standard HDMi port would be a LOT better. Just send a blank Picture signal to make it "Audio Only". Similar to the audio-only output of the bluray player. Otherwise... what is the point of using a ARC. So help me .... if someone answers "... sending Netflix audio from the TV..." to a $2000 DAC? You can do that with Optical out. Anyway, maybe Eversolo had a specific use-case in mind?
The Orei device sounds interesting. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find it in Germany. Amazon Germany carries products from this brand, but not this specific model. Thanks for the tip, though!
