My C2 is also calibrated. Is that the first LOTR film or any of them? I'll get hold of one and check. I do sometimes see top\bottom black bars that are not true black but I put that down to the source - as most top\bottom bars are fine.

Yep - if you have a source file that's letterboxed full frame and the letterbox appears above black (in relation to black in the video area) then that's definitely an encoding issue.

Yes, that is the first movie that I got to check and yes, as @Markswift2003 says, if letter box are also grey and you notice that while a scene is displayed, it most probably is source related, or even some bad settings on the output source. The issue that I'm seeing is not something many would even notice.

Not the best photos, super exposed, as it's hard to capture with just the phone, but you get the ideea. I have to drop the TV Black Level to 49 in order to fix it. Doesn't seem to crush much, will try to see if I can correct it with Calman instead.

The HDR10 output also does not manifest this issue.

Never mind. Seems it's still DV related. Dusted off the old Panasonic UB820 and popped in the LOTR physical copy and although the pixels light up differently (wish I would have something that could record what I can see), they are still not completely off. Even so, it reminded me that the Panny processor is still better (same exact settings and setup for both inputs, Zidoo and Panny).

Am I the only one here who is not able to see any major differences in HDR vs DV content?
Both DV n HDR brighten up the screen pushing the colors space. They might differ if kept side by side but nobody has two TVs in Living room so...;)

Normally there aren't major differences between them, especially if both are calibrated. Content still doesn't push the boundaries enough to make DV really make a difference and TVs also do not cover the full rec.2020 either, although the QD-OLEDs are close.

This being the only major bug I have experienced with the Z2000 Pro, it's very good news indeed. Unlike Nvidia who have been aware of the so called red push on their shields for like 3 years now and still haven't done a thing to fix it...

Any idea on why the native Plex app won't play videos on the Z9X Pro? It just displays one frame and does not play, just sits there and does nothing.

You need to give more information. What is this app? What does it do and what's the error? Note that Zidoo players are not very good with apps from the play store. They should be used to play locally stored media. Apps never work very well.

If you really want to use Plex on the Z9X Pro then you need to stop using the native Plex app and use the ZidooPlexMod kodi app instead. The internal player for plex doesn't work very well on the Zidoo players, the ZidooPlexMod kodi app will use the native zidoo player. Here is a link to the thread on ZidooPlexMod, http://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?thr...yer-for-plex-using-native-zidoo-player.94714/

You don't need that App to send files to the z9x pro. You can connect with Smb. It works for me fine from Android or Windows.

Yeah, I know about that, thank you, but I could swear it used to work when I first installed it. I don't like Kodi much and that Mod, already tested it, it worked for me, but I would really like the Plex native interface, which is so much better for content management compared to HT4 or this Kodi mod.

What do you mean? It’s literally Plex? The UX is a 1:1 match to the native Plex client….except it works on the Zidoo?

    Hi KJC
I have seen shield is better handling 1080p even 4k

It is definitely not the same as Plex, it's like a simplified version of the same :)

For some reason, at least for me, the Plex mod looks so pixelated even with ZDMC set to 4K, while native Plex looks better and also seems to run a bit smoother, even if it still feels sluggish compared to the TV's built-in Plex app.

How is it better handling of 1080P and especially 4K, where the Shield is even more limited? For upscale of 1080p, yeah, the Zidoo pales even in comparison with the C2 upscale, that is why I let the TV do the upscale.

I have also got OLED Sony A84J . I have seen shield is better in 4k HDR and 1080 p while zidoo always stutters . always have something wrong with color or framerate. It only plays DTS files fine

I know the Zidoo is not perfect, but I have no big problems with it's 4K rendering, 1080p as I said, I let the TV do the upscale as it's much better. It is very close to Blu-ray player quality. I have no big issues with stutter, some rare instances of a jitter, but hardly noticeable or annoying. For stutter, have you selected the Match Resolution and Frame Rate option? Because sending 23hz content in a 60hz container can cause stuttering.
