    No - it's essentially interpolative dynamic range expansion. But other than for marketing nonsense, one has to ask why...

    I have done this previously with Topaz
    "Use AI-powered inverse tone mapping (ITM) to convert SDR (8-bit Rec. 709) video to HDR (10-bit/16-bit HDR10, Dolby Vision, or EXR)."

    Unifab (disclosure: a client of mine), can also do this.
