I suggest you rename one of them and check. All of mine have the date and I haven’t had a mismatch for well over 12 months. Also with TV series if you include the episode name that can cause confusion especially if there happens to be a movie with the same name.

Hello @Zidoo Support-Kim . Since the latest Beta updates, there's a bug with the player's web page. When I change a setting (e.g., the movie genre), it no longer updates directly on the player, whereas before it did automatically. Now I have to manually refresh the movie by requesting its re-identification...

Will there be a major update to the player's web page soon, fixing numerous bugs? Thank you.

Adding the year to the files has seemed to help going forward. Thank you!

When a movie appears under the "Movies" category, why does it stay there, creating a duplicate, when I move it to another category? What is the point of having it in two places?

    There's a hierarchy -

Movies and TV Series constitute all available videos and are aggregated in ALL
Collections are a subcategory of Movies
Dolby Vision is a subcategory of ALL
    etc

If you create a custom category and add a movie to it that doesn't mean it stops being a movie - it's just also in a subcategory. For example. you wouldn't want Dolby Vision files to be removed from Movies, TV Series and ALL.

The widgets are an extremely powerful way of categorising your collection, particularly with Multi Device - You can create pretty much any way of showing your files you want if you have your sources organised and of course you can hide the main Movies category if you don't want to see it.

That's slightly strange logic. If I've taken the time to create a category for Dolby Vision, why wouldn't I want them removed from Movies? And having everything in movies or tv might be acceptable if all you are doing is movies and tv, but what about the in-betweens? I have 114 Tom and Jerry cartoons in Movies, because Zidoo insists on seeing them as "movies", and nothing else. And that's in addition to two Golden collections of Looney Tunes, and two volumes of Woody Woodpecker. There are over 400 titles in "Movies" that belong in specialized categories. And putting them into Collections one by one is unbelievably tedious. And then the collections tiles don't reflect how they appear under the Movies tile.
And by the way, why can't I just select multiple titles under the "Movie" tile and move them collectively into a Collection? Why do they all have to be selected one by one? Or is there some way to select more than one at a time?

We'll have to agree to disagree. As far as I'm concerned, a movie does not stop being a movie just because it's Dolby Vision.

But if the Movies category annoys you that much, just hide it and create your required structure in sources - then you can either show sources as categories or aggregate them with "Multi Device" (available in v5.0.20 onwards).

Organising your files properly pays dividends in spades - for example I have 4K movies, 2K movies and documentaries - obviously these would all appear in Movies so I have them in their own sources (3 for 4K, 4 for 2K and 2 for docos), use Multi Device to aggregate them, so I have 4K, HD and Documentary widgets. I also keep the ALL widget so I can see them all if I want.

No, there isn't a way to add more than one movie at a time to collections - this would be a very good idea, you can do it for marking watched/unwatched, but allowing multiple selections for editing would be good - If I remember, I'll add this to the list to ask the devs about after New Year.

I have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. "create your required structure in sources - then you can either show sources as categories or aggregate them with "Multi Device""-- I have no clue what this means. I don't know how to do it, and I don't know where to find these options. Is there some kind of user manual that I've just missed?

First of all which version of HT are you using? You're posting in the old v4.3.52 thread, but you haven't given any details of the box, which firmware you're on or which version of HT5 you use.

The ability to show Sources in widgets has always been there, and as stated above, Multi Device (the ability to aggregate multiple Sources) was introduced in v5.0.20. Both are accessed in the edit widget screen.

You are speaking a foreign language to me. I am using HT 5.0.x, the most recent update, whatever that is. I don't know what firmware I'm using. It's a Z9X Pro 4k that I just bought three weeks ago.
Every single thing you said in your second sentence might as well be in Swahili for me.
I'm posting in 4.3.52? Where is the thread I'm supposed to be in?
Are only low-grade hackers supposed to use this box and this site? Is there a user manual for the software?

it can be daunting at first but the quality of help on this forum is excellent. I have an old UHD3000. I bought mine knowing nothing about it and I was into my 80’s. So with a lot of help especially from Mark Swift and my best mate I’m comfortably in chasing problems. So the sub forum that deals with your model is here. https://forum.zidoo.tv/index.php?forums/hdd-8k-media-player-aml-s928x.63/ If you look at my post underneath is my “signature” I have popped in details of all my gear. This is useful when you are chasing a problem as you don’t have to go back and forth asking some questions. Saves time by cutting to the quick. Regarding your firmware you can find that info in Settings Other update or upgrade this will show your model number and firmware version.

Regarding Home Theatre version HT you can find that on the main page of HT in the little cog wheel upper right Preferences. Open it and scroll down to About. In my case for my elderly UHD3000 it shows right down the bottom Version 5.0.65 Above it shows a web address to access the albeit limited HT editor so http://192.168.x.xxx:9528. Where the address starting 192 refers to the IP address of my Zidoo. So after a few years here I class my self now as an 87 year old very low grade hacker ! A free program you might consider for your PC is MediaInfo as it can show all the details of your video files. Useful in isolating a possibly faulty file. The Zidoo is not an appliance like a toaster, plug it in and it makes toast. There is a learning curve and yes I still wish there was a paper manual.

I get the frustration, but for goodness sake, press a few buttons, try a few things. My frustration is with people not being bothered to try and work stuff for themselves particularly when it's right in front of them. I even provided pictures!

And please, at the very least, least show a modicum of manners to those trying to help you.

Maybe not a bug but a request. Add to HT4 the ability to randomly play Preroll bumpers prior to the movie. Examples: Atmos, IMAX, THX (i know its old but i like it) "The audience is listening" Classic.

Not trying to work stuff for themselves? I have spent hours over the last three weeks trying to get things to work. I have tried pressing "a few buttons" and wiped out hours of work without knowing what was happening.
Not sure what that crack about "manners" is.
It seems pretty clear that this ecosystem is designed for people who just want to spend a lot of time getting things to work, the "low grade hackers" I have encountered over the years. It's like a hobby. I don't need a hobby, I need things to work without prowling around these forums. A simple user manual to detail what you are talking about would be very helpful, and given the cost of Zidoos, I really don't think it's unreasonable.

Hey everyone! Sorry for my English, I'm using a translator. I have a question about Poster Wall. I scanned the "Cartoon Series" source, which, among other things, contains 700+ episodes of "The Simpsons." It successfully created a poster with all the seasons and episodes of "The Simpsons" (it turned out well), and then added about 50 episodes of the same series next to it, as separate movies. How can I eliminate this? I've tried scanning in "Auto" and forcing the "TV Shows" option, and selecting only the TVDB source—it doesn't help. Or how can I correctly delete these "non-existent movies"? If I long-press on one of these "pseudo-movies" and then "clear information," it's also removed from the main poster with all the seasons and episodes. Is there a solution?

There are only 5 cartoons (with episodes) in the source, 94 were found, 89 of which were Simpsons episodes as separate films.

Well, this forum has not been helpful. I have bought a Dune 4k and I'm running it beside the Z9X Pro. Interesting differences. Zidoo is far better at scraping, but navigating the Dune is easier. And Dune has a very clear online user manual, although it is still somewhat vague about a lot of things.
I also installed Jellyfin on an old Roku stick. Works pretty well, although obviously, lower quality video.
It's pretty clear this is still the Wild West. None of these products or softwares is genuinely mature. We're pretty much Beta-testing all this stuff.
All I wanted was a reliable box that could read the files on my NAS without too much intervention on my part, and I got a new hobby instead, sitting in front of a TV and/or computer trying to figure out how things work. I guess it beats walking around a mall.

UPDATE Actually, Dune is better at scraping. The problem is that it doesn't trust its own results. Also, Zidoo is much better at simple NFS connections. NFS on a Dune is a nightmare.
WISH LIST: I know you are all competing, and want to exclude each other, but having all the manufacturers and software developers get together to establish a single, simple naming convention would be extremely helpful to users. Zidoo's excellent [title].[date].[etc.].[format] is perfect. Convince Dune and Jellyfin and Plex to start using it.

Hi Korvin. So, except the "go big or go homer", these are the 50 relevant episodes? Are they appearing here as copies?
    Sorry I'm confused about this.
