I have a 3000,5000, and a new 8000 .. ALL these units are having issues

Mainly. when linking to movie titles ( 1500 files in 5 directories) [which has always worked until this issue] Now it just stops and stays locked up with 26/520 showing .. (on 5000 now)

Is ZIDOO have any hope of fixing this? I have thousands invested in these units and just do not know where to go since I am down at all locations now...

    ?????

When you say "when linking to movie titles" what do you mean?

When you say "stays locked up" what do you mean? Crashed?

When you say "with 26/520 showing" what do you mean? Showing where?

    Hello williamstock2,

I have spoken to Zidoo in depth about these issues and i can give you some information:

Issue 1 - Filtering not working
The filter does actually work (sort of) - if you go to the filter and you keep scrolling down you will see that the genres start to get duplicated - these 'duplicated' filters are working.
Zidoo told me that when TMDB is being scraped the media player is pulling in data from an older TMDB database as well and that's why the genres are duplicated.
However i never noticed this issue in HT4 that i can think of.

Issue 2 - Collection backdrops (not displaying the collection backdrop)
I've been told that this functionality has been removed in HT5 APK update (but the option to use it is still there, even though the feature doesn't work anymore)
It still works for tv shows with multiple seasons though.
I have only recently discovered that you can actually have a tv show collection, however the backdrop doesn't work at all (you only get a black background)
You could however apply custom collection backdrops in HT4 (which was a feature i always used)

I don't know if these issues will be fixed but Zidoo is aware of them

HT5 v4.3.52 has bugs like crashes in collection view and TMDB scraping issues across all SoCs. Fixes are still pending

    williamstock2,

Same here, i've got a Z9S (1296) with the HT5 update and the poster wall constantly crashes when browsing my collection, returns to the home screen and then reloads all of the posters all over again - it never happened prior to the APK fix.
It seems to me that there is not enough memory allocated to the HT5 application to run it sufficiently and that causes the crashes.
I have sent Zidoo videos of this happening and i am hoping that it will get fixed.

My most recent batch of movies have all matched incorrectly. Is there a recent beta or bug fix update that will fix this. It honestly keeps matching everything into a movie called "Chineese Erotic Movie," or something like that. Kinda weird when i go to watch a movie with my kids. I uploaded 10 or so movies yesterday and they all matched into that movie as different episodes. Any help would be appreciated...

Can you give an example of how one of those new movies file has been named by you?

I always name my mkv files in the following way, also these is also the most recently uploaded movies

    Mask of Zorro.mkv
    Chinatown.mkv
    Deep Red.mkv
    Se7en.mkv
    The Howling.mkv

I have over 800 movies on my hard drives (one internal to my uhd3000 and one external) so I have done this process many times. This has been happening since the last update.

Add the year as The Mask of Zorro (1998).MKV and see if you get a match. Basically call it exactly as IMDB does. The year is important if there are several films of the same name or part of the name as in The Mark of Zorro etc

There are multiple movies with the title "China Town" or similar variations, including the famous 1974 American film Chinatown, the 1962 Indian film China Town, the 2006 Indian film 36 China Town, and the 2011 Indian Malayalam film China Town. Other films include the 1929 animated short Chinatown, My Chinatown and the 1935 film Captured in Chinatown.
    • Chinatown (1974): A classic American neo-noir film directed by Roman Polanski and starring Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway.
    • China Town (1962): An Indian Hindi film.
    • 36 China Town (2006): An Indian Hindi film.
    • China Town (2011): An Indian Malayalam film.
    • Chinatown, My Chinatown (1929): An animated short film.
    • Captured in Chinatown (1935): An American film.

If you want maximum chances of 100% success, don't use IMDb as the source, use TMDB. TMDB is actually what is used for the lookups.

I don't have any problems rematching the movies that match incorrectly. Since the most recent update, nearly every movie (not 100% but probably 9 out of 10) match into the wrong movie. The same wrong movie as episodes and then I need to go and rematch them all.

Is it possible that I somehow changed a setting that doesn't allow the search to be conducted properly but when I rematch it does search the proper database?

In the list of movies you provided didn’t have the date and that may have been the cause, see my reply. If in doubt see TMDB site for the name they use as that is the source your Zidoo will be using. Chinatown for example there have been 6 versions with that name or variations.

I have copied hundreds of movies without a date in the title. Literally 700 or more. Everything was working fine until the last update. I understand the chinatown example having multiple versions and there being some level of difficulty. But why match as "Chinese Erotic Movies" instead of just any of the chinatown movies.

    Something isn't right...

    The Natural.mkv
    Jeepers Creepers.mkv
    Jeepers Creepers 2.mkv

All matched wrong this morning. All matched as "Chinese Erotic Movies." I have attached a screen shot showing that an entire bunch of movies copied as episodes "A-I" incorrectly.

Are you sure TMDB is selected as the scraping source for HT5?
When entering these movie titles into the TMDB web site, there are listed correctly with no confusion.
