  1. Did a fresh scan of my TV library using this version and it was another improvement on match accuracy. Very few errors remain for me at this point, but here's what I found:

    Dragon Ball Kai - https://www.thetvdb.com/series/dragon-ball-kai
Season 1 episodes get incorrectly matched to: https://www.thetvdb.com/series/dragon-ball
    "Z:\complete\TV\Dragon Ball Kai (2009) {tvdb-88031}\Dragon Ball Kai (2009) {tvdb-88031} Season 1\Dragon Ball Kai.S01E03.[HDTV-720p][8bit][x264][AC3 5.1].mkv"
    "Z:\complete\TV\Dragon Ball Kai (2009) {tvdb-88031}\Dragon Ball Kai (2009) {tvdb-88031} Season 1\Dragon Ball Kai.S01E01.[HDTV-720p][8bit][x264][AC3 5.1].mkv"
    "Z:\complete\TV\Dragon Ball Kai (2009) {tvdb-88031}\Dragon Ball Kai (2009) {tvdb-88031} Season 1\Dragon Ball Kai.S01E02.[HDTV-720p][8bit][x264][AC3 5.1].mkv"
    ...
    Season 2 episodes are unmatched:
    "Z:\complete\TV\Dragon Ball Kai (2009) {tvdb-88031}\Dragon Ball Kai (2009) {tvdb-88031} Season 2\Dragon Ball Kai.S02E03.[Bluray-1080p REAL][8bit][x264][AC3 2.0][JA+EN][-TENEIGHTY].mkv"
    "Z:\complete\TV\Dragon Ball Kai (2009) {tvdb-88031}\Dragon Ball Kai (2009) {tvdb-88031} Season 2\Dragon Ball Kai.S02E01.[Bluray-1080p REAL][8bit][x264][AC3 2.0][JA+EN][-TENEIGHTY].mkv"
    "Z:\complete\TV\Dragon Ball Kai (2009) {tvdb-88031}\Dragon Ball Kai (2009) {tvdb-88031} Season 2\Dragon Ball Kai.S02E02.[Bluray-1080p][8bit][x264][AC3 5.1][EN+JA][-aAF].mkv"
    ...

I also noticed that, when the name of the season folder is different from one season to another, you get separate entries in HT 4.0

    "Z:\complete\TV\Rick and Morty\Rick and Morty Season 3\Rick and Morty.S03E03.[HDTV-720p][8bit][x264][AC3 5.1]-BATV.mkv"
    "Z:\complete\TV\Rick and Morty\Rick and Morty Season 3\Rick and Morty.S03E01.[HDTV-720p][8bit][x264][AC3 5.1]-W4F.mkv"
    "Z:\complete\TV\Rick and Morty\Rick and Morty Season 3\Rick and Morty.S03E02.[HDTV-720p][8bit][x264][AC3 5.1]-BATV.mkv"

    "Z:\complete\TV\Rick and Morty\Rick and Morty Season 4\Rick and Morty.S04E02.[Bluray-1080p][8bit][x264][EAC3 5.1]-BTN.mkv"
    "Z:\complete\TV\Rick and Morty\Rick and Morty Season 4\Rick and Morty.S04E03.[Bluray-1080p][8bit][x264][EAC3 5.1]-BTN.mkv"
    "Z:\complete\TV\Rick and Morty\Rick and Morty Season 4\Rick and Morty.S04E01.[Bluray-1080p][8bit][x264][EAC3 5.1]-BTN.mkv"

    "Z:\complete\TV\Rick and Morty\Rick and Morty (2013) {tvdb-275274} Season 5\Rick and Morty.S05E02.[WEBRip-1080p][8bit][x264][AAC 2.0][-BAE].mkv"
    "Z:\complete\TV\Rick and Morty\Rick and Morty (2013) {tvdb-275274} Season 5\Rick and Morty.S05E01.[WEBRip-1080p][8bit][x264][EAC3 5.1][-NTb].mkv"

With this folder structure, I get one entry in HT 4.0 called "Rick and Morty" which contains Seasons 3 and 4 (matched correctly) then I also have a second entry called "Rick and Morty Season 5" which contains all the Season 5 episodes, also matched correctly. I assume I can fix this myself easily by changing the folder name, just something I've noticed.

I think this level of matching accuracy is a great improvement compared to where things were a week ago, so thanks for the swift work. I would still hope to see tvdb id matching, which I assume is not yet supported as Dragon Ball Kai fails to match correctly despite featuring the tvdb in the folder name. Also, I think it would be very helpful if, when you released a new version for testing, you would give a short summary of the new features and/or changes.

For anyone else wanting to provide feedback, if on Windows 10 you hold shift and right click on a video file, you can select "copy as path", which allows for copy/pasting the entire path to the file as I have done above.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1l0uPTUUSczarKGQaOtIdkV3WlZwg2qi6/view?usp=sharingThe bug is still present for TVDB After switching from TMDB It shows the specials instead of the season episodes. so S01E01 is showing S00E01 and S02E01 is showing S00E01. i told people about this bug and they thought I was crazy or that's how they treated my post. anyways heres a link to the video so we can all be crazy together. Guess my camera is making it up too.

Even though I have disabled NFO reading, it still seemed to look for them because the information was mostly correct. Once I removed the NFO files it is just as bad as ever even with the newer version of HT4.0. Showing specials or outtakes instead of episodes. Not adding seasons to a collection or taking so long to add them that I think it wont. Thanks for trying but I think I've just wasted my time and should have left it how it was. Plus all my TV shows seem to be under the Animation category. I don't think this was the case before.

It's a TVDB scraper problem cause it's not on the TVDB side. it's something in their scrapper that's not right. TMDB works fine.

Is there a way of downgrading again. I tried reinstalling 4.0.70 but that doesn't work. I want to be able to read my NFOs again and this really was not much of an improvement for me. Also if I mark a watched film as unwatched it then adds it to the list of films I'm watching.

Could this be a RAM issue? I have a UHD3000 with 4GB and so far all of my scrapping except for some very ancient tiles that I posted about work well. Sometime it will look for the episode title instead of the series name and that is easy to fix. I've often thought it's such a pity Media player manufacturers don't allow user updates to physical memory like a PC etc.

I've installed the latest version 4.0.72 on my x9s and tried to scan 1 serie only (star trek voyager). My directory structure is as follows:
    Star Trek - Voyager (1995)
    - Seizoen 1
    -- Star Trek - Voyager s01e01.mkv
    -- Star Trek - Voyager s01e02.mkv
    -- etc.
    - Seizoen 2
    -- Star Trek - Voyager s02e01.mkv
    -- etc
    - etc

Almost all episodes from the 1st season (but not all) are linked to the serie Linus (whatever this may be), 54 episodes are unmatched and the rest was not scanned due to a crash of home theater. Language HT was Dutch, I tried it with English but that made no difference.
Does home theater 4.0.72 even work on zidoo x9s? I installed the version from McBluna.net

On my installation with a NAS and 9 DD, the scrapping when opening HT after a while I have DDs that are blocked ......... forced to stop them and restart them manually !!!
And this for several firmwares ........ do they happen to you ??

The Popcorn A 500 scraper by Chris Nichols NMJToolBox2 had a similar problem from TVDB. They did a major rewrite of their API sometime ago, so maybe something has changed again?

Possibly but it happened after updating 2 firmwares ago, and I constantly changed back and forth between TMDB and TVDB. I only noticed directly after updating my Z9X. So I think it's on Zidoo's side. Cause it was working before updating..... well kind of. It hasn't actually worked properly for about 5 or 6 firmwares. they fixed the bug that wouldn't allow you to change the posters for TV Shows and the bug for single-season TV Shows, but on the firmware they fixed both of those, It introduced this bug.

I did a test with the 2 July version.
    Flash (2014)
    -Season 7
    --Flash - S07E01 - All`s Wells That Ends Wells.mkv

TMDB : "match rule Accurate" -> No problem - But no clearlogo
TVDB : "match rule episodes" -> S07E01 -> He is wrong and he recognizes me the episode as S00E01 even if I manually enter S07E01
    TVMaze : "match rule episodes" -> S07E01 -> OK + Clearlogo

On the other hand, for another series when there is French on TVDB, I only have English.

So I tested the version 4.0.76 and problem with the missing pictures I had with the previous version is gone. However, it does not use the TV show picture (poster.jpg) or season picture (season01-poster.jpg).

  17. I re-scanned my library with .76 and found only the following issues:

Dragon Ball Kai Season 2 is unmatched:
    "Z:\complete\TV\Dragon Ball Kai (2009) {tvdb-88031}\Season 2\Dragon Ball Kai.S02E03.[Bluray-1080p REAL][8bit][x264][AC3 2.0][JA+EN][-TENEIGHTY].mkv"
    "Z:\complete\TV\Dragon Ball Kai (2009) {tvdb-88031}\Season 2\Dragon Ball Kai.S02E01.[Bluray-1080p REAL][8bit][x264][AC3 2.0][JA+EN][-TENEIGHTY].mkv"
    "Z:\complete\TV\Dragon Ball Kai (2009) {tvdb-88031}\Season 2\Dragon Ball Kai.S02E02.[Bluray-1080p][8bit][x264][AC3 5.1][EN+JA][-aAF].mkv"
    ...

Frontline the 2020 Season is unmatched:
    "Z:\complete\TV\Frontline (1983) {tvdb-80646}\Season 2020\Frontline.S2020E02.[WEBDL-1080p][8bit][h264][AAC 2.0].mkv"
    "Z:\complete\TV\Frontline (1983) {tvdb-80646}\Season 2020\Frontline.S2020E03.[WEBDL-1080p][8bit][h264][AAC 2.0].mkv"
    "Z:\complete\TV\Frontline (1983) {tvdb-80646}\Season 2020\Frontline.S2020E01.[WEBDL-1080p][8bit][h264][AAC 2.0].mkv"

Ted Lasso is matched correctly but shows up in the library as "Ted Lasso Season 1" instead of "Ted Lasso" (only one season has aired so far)
    "Z:\complete\TV\Ted Lasso (2020) {tvdb-383203}\Season 1\Ted Lasso.S01E02.[WEBDL-2160p][HDR][10bit][h265][EAC3 Atmos 5.1][-SKEDADDLE].mkv"
    "Z:\complete\TV\Ted Lasso (2020) {tvdb-383203}\Season 1\Ted Lasso.S01E03.[WEBDL-2160p][HDR][10bit][h265][EAC3 Atmos 5.1][-SKEDADDLE].mkv"
    "Z:\complete\TV\Ted Lasso (2020) {tvdb-383203}\Season 1\Ted Lasso.S01E01.[WEBDL-2160p][HDR][10bit][h265][EAC3 Atmos 5.1][-SKEDADDLE].mkv"
    ...

Overall matching for TV is in a great state at the moment but I have to ask, is TVDB id matching considered for the future? I believe it would fix the few remaining matching issues.

Wooww you are coming from Plex which can match almost everything.
Try to rename folder from \Dragon Ball Kai (2009) {tvdb-88031}\ to \Dragon Ball Kai\ see fix this helps or try use tinyMediaManager to build .nfo files for problematic series.
    LE:
    Frontline (1983) {tvdb-80646}\Season 2020\Frontline.S2020E... do you mean to be \Frontline (1983) {tvdb-80646}\Season 39\Frontline.S39E...?

  19. I'd like to keep the existing naming scheme for my library as it is what is recommended by Plex as best practice and I am running a plex server for my media as well for streaming outside of my house. The scraping at this point is good enough that the few errors that remain I can just fix manually rather than via third party software like tinymediamanager. Still, I am advocating for a TMDB and TVDB id matching when scraping as that seems to be the most reliable method from what I can gather.

I will check this. The issue with TVDB only happens to shows that have specials that are part of Season 0.
