    Eversolo DMP A-6 support 4TB SSD。 Now 8TB SSD is in the market, would 8TB SSD supported?

    Officially only 4 TB is supported for now.

    With the 8 TB can be also a problem, with the physical fit, because the only one, that I know is equipped on both sides. This hint is only for the internal one and for the current price (1200€ in Germany) I wouldn't buy it now...

    Normally capacity is only stated for commonly available SSD at the time, originally they only stated 2TB as official, they moved to 4TB when more people started buying them, so i cant see why they wouldn’t work. As others have stated, whether it actually fits in the enclosure is another thing.

    Several vendors, such as PNY XLR8 CS3140 8TB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4x4 SSD, supply size 2280 8TB or 4TB PCle SSD。Size 2280 is now in A-6。

    If it fits it should just work. One can always use an External USB housing for it as I do. Like to be flexible as I have a stack of players.

    How many albums or titles could the database easily manage and display? You could also connect an 8 TB externally to USB or not?

    I think the 2nd answer was already above your question? Do that all the time. Works on both USB3 Host ports.

    Collections may be very big just watch the limits for subfolders (200) and tracks (100) within a folder.

    Limits? Where did you see that?

    I use this folder structure:
    EverSoloMusic -> Artist -> Album
    Is the subfolder already the artist or does eversolomusic not count as a folder?

    Actions will slow down exponentially getting above those limits. Just try yourself.
    No, not published/specified by Eversolo but yes confirmed as guidelines.

    Try putting a Top-2000 collection into a single folder and start to play a title next. :p

    @Pitcher
    Your structure will slow down during browsing when having (far) more that 200 albums. You need to group them then into several subfolders.

    In general. Up to 16 TByte there is no known limit to me. Above that it depends if any 32-bit field counters are used by the drivers. Never studied how these SSD's address the memory?

    So has anyone compared an external usb drive to the internal ssd? My external usb drives sound great and I currently have 10tb connected. Does it really sound better??

    Why should there a difference in SQ?

    I'm using with the DMP-A6 internal SSD, external USB HDD, SMB, NFS, RAAT --> sounds all the same....

    It does not matter how storage is connected: Internal, USB or NAS.
