Needless to say I disabled CEC on my 8K as we know it's the DEVIL! I disabled CEC as my Sony gear has it enabled, and is working as expected. I have the remote that the 8k shipped with (orange buttons), it's a minor annoyance but it powers on my Dune HD Pro Vision when I hit the power on the 8k. Not sure if it worth it to buy the bluetooth remote, I guess my question is there a way to program an 8K with orange button remote to use a different RF frequency for communication?
Yeah, stupidly, Dune recently changed their IR codes so that where previously there was no interaction either way, now there are shared codes. If you set the Dune power option to "Video Output Off" that should fix it - this is a sort of pseudo standby function - basically it turns HDMI off and turns the LED red.
IR, LOL! Don't know where my brain was.... Tried the "Video Output Off" option, works for me! Hope I can remember to do it every time ^_^
Problem is, we all know these boxes need to be fully rebooted every once in a while ^_^ Maybe I should have said: "I hope I can remember that a power click on the remote only puts it in standby"
Yeah, I had an issue with my Zidoo remote using several signals that were identical to those used by my SVS subwoofer. I would get my sub all nicely calibrated for my room and watch a movie on the Zidoo and my sub would go all wonky. You can't disable the IR input on the sub or change the IR signals on either the sub or the Zidoo, so I calibrated the sub then covered the IR port with black electrical tape. I can still mess with it using my phone app if I need to but I don't need to so much any more. Now if we could just get Zidoo to add discrete on and off signals for the players! I have a programmable remote that I use to control multiple devices and I have one button that turns off ALL my devices plus one button per input device (disc player, media player, satellite receiver, etc.) that turns on the device plus turns on the TV and the A/V receiver and sets the A/V receiver to the right input for the device. I can't do that with the Zidoo as it only has a toggle on/off signal.
You can get halfway there - there is a discrete Off command: Code: 0000 006C 0022 0002 015B 00AD 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 0041 0016 0016 0016 0041 0016 06FB 015B 0057 0016 0E6C
