Someone out there that uses a 12V trigger? I can't get it working with my Rotel Michi X5... Thanks for your help...
I use the trigger output of the DMP-A8 with a Parasound A23+ with a 3.5 mono jack to 3.5 mono jack. No problems to report
Hello, I have an A8 and would like to connect two monoblocks. However, the A8 only has a 12V trigger. Can I use a Y-adapter? These adapters are only available in stereo. Do I generally need a mono or stereo cable for the connection? Unfortunately, it's not mentioned in the user manual. Can someone please help me? Thanks Edmund
Edi, I don't think so. The trigger is supplying a voltage that usually closes a relay in the "triggered" device. They're not rated for very much current, and if you overload it it might be damanged. Two thoughts: Do you monoblocks have trigger-out? Many amps do for daisy-chaining. Another option is a "relay multiplier" product like thsi one: https://emotiva.com/products/et-3-trigger-expansion-module Good luck, and welcome! -Brian
I am using Trigger out A8 to iotaxp PM30, And from the A10 to Iotaxp Amp 2-840 No problems either here.
I am using a y adapter at my A8 to trigger my IOM 500 NCx500 Mono amps using 3.5 mm mono jack cables. No issues at all. Best Kurt
If I only have one trigger out on the source device, in this case an Eversolo A8, but want to switch on two power amplifiers via triggers. Y Splitter cables only come in stereo though. That's what I did. But. Now I have a problem. When I start the Eversolo A8, it switches on the power amplifiers via 12 volts before it has fully booted up (takes about 24 seconds). But as soon as the boot process is complete after about 24 seconds, I hear a crackling noise from both speakers. It sounds like a static discharge. What could it be? I then disconnected the trigger cables. Now the only connection between the Eversolo and the mono power amplifiers is via the XLR cables. Now I switch on the monos manually and then start the Eversolo. I still get this crackling noise. Does anyone have any ideas?
I had the same issue when I let the mono amps be turned via my Burson Soloist 3XGT via trigger signal. It seems to be a certain incompatibility between the devices, I know no real reason for that. Since I connected the amps to Eversolo for trigger start signal, everything is fine. I turn in the Soloist first (preamp), what a few seconds and then I turn on the Eversolo. When shutting down, I switch of the Eversolo, by that also the amps. The Soloist shuts down by itself after 20min. If anyone knows a reason for that cracky, discharging sound, please let us know. I never had that issues when using the trigger signal before. Yamaha RX-A3080 and Rotel RB-1582MKII worked fine. Eversolo and audiophonics mpa-s250nc worked fine. Yamaha wxa-50 and audiophonics mpa-s250nc worked fine. Best Kurt
When you have many variables involved, the best thing to do is to have a stripped-bare setup to check against: 1. remove the trigger cables 2. connect the Eversolo to the power amps with your preferred analog interconnects (be them RCA or XLR) 3. power the Eversolo ON 4. once it is fully operating, ensure its volume is LOW. then switch the power amps ON too. 5. now start listenoing to any noise, while increasing the Eversolo volume. Now you can write down a detailed description about: - what you have - what you have done - what you got This seems elementary, just because it IS elemntary; but knowing the very tiny details helps a lot in troubleshooting.
This maybe because either you didn't carefully read the OP, or you didn't carefully read my answer. My post isn't about solving the issue, but rather being able to determine WHERE the issue may be, and then being a little bit closer to determining what to do to solve it.
There is no issue when NOT using the trigger signal, thus your guideline is useless (in this case) and will not help to determine the reason for the discharging sound at all. Just my opinion. Maybe some other people are more smart than I am. Best
Then look around for different trigger cables...?!? If it is obvious the issue is with them... I thought it was not obvious, hence I suggested the steps that would have lead to the same conclusion: the cables are the culprit - change them, or get information about their specs for your amp. Hope this clarifies things. You are not less smart than others; but you do not seem to be that much curious...
A mono jack cable is in that case only a transmitter for a 12V signal...the cable works fine in direct connection between the A8 and my amps but not in connection from the Soloist to the amps. Thus assume it is not the cables... I guess there is a potential drop somewhere between the devices which discharges via the trigger cables...
Since the cables are such an easy component, it's easy to determine whether they DO work, or NOT. In your case it's clear they DO. The Soloist may have ground issues? Or DC filtering ones? Both things not so easy to be checked out without the proper instruments the common listener does not usually possess...
