Which just means Zappiti's scraper calls MediaInfo (or similar). Zidoo's doesn't, it just does a simple directory search and uses the directory/filename for identification and the extension/directory structure to identify the file type - mkv, BDMV etc. It may be that Zidoo thought it prudent to omit this feature in favour of scraping speed, or it may be that it simply didn't occur to them. Either way, they've indicated that it's unlikely to be added, which is a shame. As has been stated before, if you append the filename appropriately, these details will be added at scrape time, but this is not ideal.
Mediainfo is not efficient enough, so it takes up too much system resources when scraping. Usually it is an asynchronous mechanism that runs in the background, causing playback anomalies.
Many thanks for the clarification - I suspected as much. As I said, a shame it doesn't do it, but it's certainly not a show stopper by any means. And there are plenty of other players with playback anomalies - we certainly don't want the Zidoo doing that too
