    actual movies with HDR10+

    ALIEN
    BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY
BAD TIMES AT THE EL ROYALE
    WIDOWS
its not many , but they will come for sure .

I just bought new flag ship tv that supports this format and I previously bought X9S for my dad . He have an older flagship tv with only HDR10 so that player works fine with that older tv , but now I'm trying to find some future proof player that will support HDR10+ too .
So will be there an update that will support this new format ???
    thnx

It would be great if Zidoo could work on this, as I understand there are no royalty requirements unlike Dolby Vision. It also seems that HDR10+ is NOT as complicated to implement as DV, since OPPO managed to do it on the 203 player, years after its release.

As far as I know the 1296 (unlike the 1395) does not support HDR10+ so it cannot be supported on this box

i think it will be good to support when more contents n displays support it too (n hopefully properly mastered). for side by side comparison:

I am surprised even the latest generation (2019) Onkyo AMP's don't include HDR10+ in their specs. Just HDR10, DV and HLG.
Maybe there it comes later via an update? IMAX DTS sound is announced as an update.

Differences seem to be very subtle indeed.

The 1395 isn't a new generation, it was released last year for OTT boxes.

It does not really matter if it can do DV or not. Even if it could Dolby would not licence the player with DV as it seems they don't like media players. This even if Zidoo would be so nice to pay the fees for it, which I doubt too.

Look's like that HDR10+ can not be implemented without any fee, https://hdr10plus.org/license-program
Here we can see who already paid fee for their product's https://hdr10plus.org/adopters

So because some money needs to spent for the old boxed in order we to get update with HDR10+ I think its impossible we to receive update like that at least for free. Regardless what some people taking RTD1295/1296 can handle HDR10+ without any problem. HDR10 have static metadata which needs to read from disk/file only at the start of the movie. HDR10+ have dynamic metadata which also needs to read from disk/file and transmitted with every frame. Metadata is small amount of data which tell TV how he should setup back light, contrast and etc., so there is no need for high CPU power to do this. Big problem like how I can see will be something totally different, time will tell.

Says maximum anyone need to pay is $10K per annum.

Not a very big amount given the context.
