    Hi,

    What brand of AVR ?
You need choice Direct or pure Direct mode. If You use SONY there is A.F.D mode for listening.

For AVR Pioneer I need to select Object rendering. In this case AVR can decode metadata from DolbyTrueHD, Dolby Digital+ and AVR detect and show DOLBY ATMOS. For DTS Master-HD then decodes DTS:X. Of Course DST Master HD track have to has metada.

You need to read your user´s manual. I believe that this info. you can find there.

    Sorry for my English.

Atmos will only render if you have a 5.1.2 or better system. ATMOS object rendering uses height speakers. If you only have 5.1 you’ll only see TrueHD. If you’re AVR supports Atmos and you want some cheap Atmos speakers onkyo makes an OK ceiling reflection speaker.
