On Zidoo X9S, I am trying to play 4K UHD movies (30GB). When I check the resolution on my Sony TV XBR75X940D, it says 1080p/24p HD. I checked my setting on TV and it fine. I purchased Zidoo as it said it plays 4K content. May I missing some setting in Zidoo. Please help me.
1) "4K UHD movies (30GB)", it's very strange UHD Movie are more big than 30gb. 2) do you have check display setting ? try to force HDMI output to 2016@60
Thanks for your reply Looun. 1) I am mostly playing REMUX 2160 movies. which are normally around 30gb-40gb depending on the movies. 2) I check in Quick Setting. There is no option for 2160@60. Maximum resolution I see is 1080p@60. Is it possible because my Zidoo is connected to HDMI 4K AV receiver (video passthru resolution) and AV receiver to 4K TV via HDMI.
1) nope , some REMUX are 40gb , but lot of are 50-80gb. You have wrong file. 2 ) the problem is your AV receiver not x9s, are you sure have HDMI 2.0 AV receiver ? HDMI 1.4 AV receiver can support 4k but only at 30hz but without HDR metadata.
Thanks for your input. I will try hooking up Zidoo directly to TV. I will also check if my AVR is HDMI 2.0. It is kind of old AVR. AVR - Onkyo TX-NR717 TV - Sony XBR75x940D Zidoo X9S
nope, Onkyo TX-NR717 is HDMI 1.4 "Supported resolutions: [3840 × 2160 24/25/30 Hz], [4096 × 2160 24 Hz]" you can link TV to AV reciver with HDMI ARC : x9s --> TV --> NR717 or you must buy a Splitter with HDMI 2.0 and 1.4 or device like HDFURY AVR KEY, Egreat H10
Thanks Looun. Really appreciate your help. Currently my setup is X9S ---> NR717---->TV. Problem with Android TVs are that ARC only supports DD 5.1 (No DTS). I have installed KODI on TV and it does not pass thru DTS signal to my AVR. I don't know if this is my Sony Android TV limitation or every Android TV. Can you please tell me the setup for using splitter?
