Trying to program a remote for kodi on zidoo

Hello,
so I run kodi fron the H6 box.
I have a Harmony remote, and I can control the Zidoo using the Harmony, same as the buttons that are on the original remote.

My question is how do I control Kodi? I want to use Play, pause, etc, but I don't know what device to use or if the Zidoo can receive keyboard commands thru IR.

Any help would be appreciated.

 

Why don't you use Zidoo's remote? It is fine for controlling Kodi.

So in the 90's I had one remote to control all my devices, including my HT setup.
in 2018, I have a harmony remote that does the same, I currently have a laptop running kodi.
I want to replace this laptop with the H6, but there are many problems with the zidoo remote, it's too basic, and every kodi function requires at least 2 button presses.
This is crazy. these products need to be thought through a little bit better.
I just want one remote to rule them all

 

Consider buying an air mouse.

I selected the device as zidoo x9s and programmed the harmony but it seems none of the buttons that are not on the H6 remote work, buttons like pause, play do nothing.

I can't get this to work.
I programmed a new device in Harmony as zidoo x9s. none of the buttons that don't exist on the H6 remote work. For example, there is no stop button on the H6, but the x9s has one. It doesn't work on the H6...

Does the H6 have IR support?
As the H6 remote is Bluetooth...I'm wondering

perhaps you can use this keyb button "mapping" then change the zidoo remote *mapping" to your liking:

the H6 have the IR support.
the base remote of H6 is the bluetooth remote.
we will and the full function of IR keymap like the X9S.

I still say spend a few bucks and buy an air mouse. They are the best.

 

Question for you guys with the air mouse.
minix A3, does it work in kodi properly? Play, Pause, Stop, Skip forward, skip backword?
jjackson, which one do you have and also does it work in kodi properly?

I dont do Kodi and I have a C120 2.4GHz Wireless QWERTY Keyboard + Air Mouse + Remote Control for Windows / Mac OS / Linux / Android

I bought it on sale from one of the Chinese companies. It works fine, but there are many good ones out there.

I use the Zidoo remote to turn the box on and off and the air mouse does the rest. I've tried the keyboard and the air mouse is much better and cheaper. I would have anything else.

Mine doesnt have the buttons you want like stop, pause and FF.
