hi all, I installed a new HDD a few days ago in my X10, it's a Seagate barracuda (7200rpm 8Tb) I know that it can disturb people, this may be able to help you make the decision to disable the fan. As i already did before with my old WD RED (5400rpm 3tb), i will check the temperature (with the Fluke 561) without the fan during the next 2 days continuing to use my X10 as I do every day. if the temperatures are good I will turn off the fan H24. I am optimistic, the hdd inside the X10 has space around him, more than in his old case (backup plus hub 8tb). see you
With some players it is possible to turn off the fan even with a HDD inserted. I have had good results for Himedia Q10 Pro and Xtreamer with all Prodigy type enclosures which includes the latest eXpress model player. But Egreat players A10 and A11 with ample space inside really need the (automatic) fan. It is not a matter of space but how well the enclosure absorbs any heat produced.

Hi all, Just out of curiosity, i check the temperature of the internal HDD (8tb / 7200rpm) after watching a movie without the fan of Zidoo X10. ------------ The temperature is around 39 degrees after 1 hour with the fan on "OFF", and without watching movies. ------------ I watched several movies, the longest was Interstellar (2h45mn) and the highest temperature was around 47 degrees. ------------ The temperature is between 44 and 47 degrees depending on the duration of the film, i suppose the temperature could exceed 50 degrees if I watched "The lord of the rings extended" for example. If I make no mistake we must not exceed 50 degrees with an internal HDD, so it seems like it can be risky to disable the X10 fan with a 7200rpm HDD. For my part I will let the fan work See you

Is it beta then? will it make BD playback worse? I see that some have had menus vanish, I can't have this its one of the main reasons In bought this unit.
I took a chance & updated, it didn't seem to break anything but then again didn't seem to fix anything I have issue with.
Hi all, I check if I have banding with my settings and the FW 1.5.0. I already did the test with john wick 2 ISO UHD HDR and I did not have banding.
