Hello, I got my X8 today and I am disappointed. There are too many files I can not play. See the table attached. I also uploaded the mediainfos of all videos I tried too play: A .rar including .txts. 1) Why no playback? 2) Do you have any solution? 3) Is there any alternative player? I am really excited regarding your responses. Cheers.
managed to play some high L5.1 with mx player. Some from zidoo reported the soc capable only of L4.1 , Not sure where the truth is, probably somewhere in the middle
1) zidoo has multiple SOC's , the one on x8/x9s/x10 is the latest from realtek. and probably is the best one from all of them 2) can't give you one, some say nvidia shield, but i did not test it myself, and even that one has its problems, you won't find a SOC that plays all files. Probably for best compatibility you will need to go far a intel NUC ( or similar ), or build your own HTPC using intel platform
not really, it runs windows... so its like a PC. The are airmouses that work with PC tho. but the interface , unless you are running kodi 24/7 will be the windows interface
Thanks. I already got a pretty good Notebook (Acer V17 Nitro Black Edition), but the GPU (GTX960M) seems to be out of date, thus taking the HEVC decoding to the CPU instead of carrying it out on the GPU. Which means some 4K-files with high bitrates stutter. I do not want to get a "new" PC. I'll do some research
High Profile 10 bits (Hi10p) is popular amongst anime fans but not well supported by many platforms (such as ARM or Atom). It's a well known limitation because there's no hardware decoder, it's has to be done by the CPU in software mode. Hence Intel or AMD x86 CPU are recommended for Hi10p decoding.
And which Media Player does support this? Can you play these files?: https://www.koi-sama.net/files/hi10/ I cannot with Zidoo X8 v1.2.12, Native Player.
Hello there, I have an X8. I am not able to play any AVC High10@Lx files with the Native Player. I am able to play any AVC High10@Lx files with the ZDMC --> DVD-Player. But as higher the overall bit rates as more artifacts, judders, sound interruptions I experience. I would like to make clear: I am not referring to anything like: AVC Main@L5.1 AVC High @L4 AVC High @ L5 AVC High @ L5.1 HEVC Main 10@L5.1@Main or similar. I can play those fluently with the native player with bit rates up to 250 Mbps. I am specifically referring to: AVC High 10@L4 AVC High 10@L4.1 AVC High 10@L5 AVC High 10@L5.1 or similar with bit rates starting from 6000 or 7000 kbps. Examples: These work (low bit rate): http://ps-auxw.de/10bit-h264-sample/ I am having trouble with this one: https://www.koi-sama.net/files/hi10/[1080p][16_REF_L5.1][FLAC_5.1]Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu BD OP.mkv Here my poof video: slight judders in the beginning (when the camera zooms out) sound interruptions and artifacts from 00:22 to 00:27 sound interruptions and artifacts from 00:56 to 01:00 1) Does anyone have any files like this? 2) Does anyone else experience this? 3) Is there any solution to this problem? 4) What about the X9S? I can send you some more samples from my personal collection with higher bit rates and thus severe problems. (private message) Cheers.
well, you are deliberately testing a unsupported format, not sure how you expect them to work, most animes will not be in that format, unless you are actively searching for them , 99% of the anime i get from different fansub groups are Code: General Format : Matroska Format version : Version 4 / Version 2 File size : 547 MiB Duration : 23mn 53s Overall bit rate : 3 202 Kbps Encoded date : UTC 2010-02-22 21:41:29 Writing application : no_variable_data Writing library : no_variable_data Attachment : Yes Video ID : 1 Format : AVC Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec Format profile : High@L4.0 Format settings, CABAC : Yes Format settings, ReFrames : 4 frames Codec ID : V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC Duration : 23mn 53s Nominal bit rate : 3 072 Kbps Width : 1 920 pixels Height : 1 080 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate mode : Variable Frame rate : 23.810 fps Original frame rate : 23.976 fps Color space : YUV Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0 Bit depth : 8 bits Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.062 Writing library : x264 core 120 r2120 0c7dab9 Default : Yes Forced : No DURATION : 00:23:53.767000000 NUMBER_OF_FRAMES : 34377 NUMBER_OF_BYTES : 550324233 _STATISTICS_WRITING_APP : no_variable_data _STATISTICS_WRITING_DATE_UTC : 1970-01-01 00:00:00 _STATISTICS_TAGS : BPS DURATION NUMBER_OF_FRAMES NUMBER_OF_BYTES Audio ID : 2 Format : AAC Format/Info : Advanced Audio Codec Format profile : LC Codec ID : A_AAC Duration : 23mn 53s Channel(s) : 2 channels Channel positions : Front: L R Sampling rate : 44.1 KHz Compression mode : Lossy Language : Japanese Default : Yes Forced : No DURATION : 00:23:53.92500000 And play just fine on my box. if you really need that specific format, you will have to go intel P.S. L5.1 will not work ( reported as hardware limitation ) from what i tested with kodi 17 and mx player: L4.1 plays , not 100% perfect, but i'd say its watchable ( seems to play better under MX player than kodi 17, but it's using software decoding a.k.a using CPU raw power, so playback may not be consistent with different animes, ) L4.0 plays fine. same SW decoding reported by mx player, also works fine in kodi
Thanks for your reply, but ... is not true. I sent you a link with a .rar containing 3 samples of my collection. I have a lot more. This is the format for a lot of high quality rips with high bit rates. So if you say there is no media player out there capable of playing this file, I have only 2 options: 1. get rips with different format 2. convert the existing ones Question: Do you have any recommendation for a good conversion-software with no quality-losses?
encoding will take some time, and will require powerfull pc ( probably with 8 threads+ ). you can start here: http://www.h264encoder.com/ . but this topic is allot more complicated than that. never tried on anime tho. they are shorter then most videos. P.S. there may be a media player that can play high L.5.1 , i, personally don't know one, probably nvidia shield can ? but can't recommend something i haven't tested
I ordered a Shield. There is light for me: https://forums.geforce.com/default/...codec-gt-level-5-0-5-1-/post/4686869/#4686869 I read you have to turn hardware decoding off for those files. I will let you know.
With hardware decoding off. You will use software decoding. Not sure that CPU can do that. Even some powerfull older desktop CPU struggle with those files. Let me know how it goes.
Refer to this thread : http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=165716 There's examples of platforms that can handle this codec. For instance, the Tegra X1 and many old celerons can play these encoded videos. It's more a matter of hardware architecture than pure hardware performance.
I just got my Shield! Plays my videos with no flaw! I did not even had to turn of hardware decoding at Kodi. I'm so happy! I'll try to find some Anime with higher bit rates! Cheers
Hi, my first post here. I have the F770 front and rear in my Tesla and installed the Dash Cam Mobile Viewer app version 2.1.1 on my Android phone version 6.0.1. When connected to the F770 wifi I wanted to see the movie clips and had to install the MX player for it. That gave quite some issues: 1. after installing MX (1.8.9) and playing the first video, which didn't do it properly (see below), the app didn't respond anymore when trying to connect via wifi. I managed to get it working in the end via uninstalling and installing both the viewer and MX player. 2. opening the clips, opens the MX but there is no sound. No matter what settings I use; hw, SW, etc. (Sound on the phone is enabled. Sound works on pc viewer) 3. the clips don't play continuously. It starts playing, stops after half a second, pressing the play button, plays it for a second. Only after the third press, it plays (without sound). Are there specific settings I need to do in the MX player to get it working properly?
